Nightly News for March 31st

Be aware tomorrow is April Fools Day...and a Friday. Please take a moment to check out your overhead screen. We recently had one fall off the wall and I just want everyone to take a look at theirs to ensure it looks secure. If there is an issue please send an email to Shannon and Tino.  We are able to welcome parent volunteers into our classrooms. They need to be checked through the volunteer system and vaccinated to be in classrooms.  Julia Brim-Edwards was here for almost two hours. She was excited to see kids working in several of the classrooms she visited. We hope to have her return soon.  I have still not caught up on emails.....I am trying!

Weekly Forecast for March 30th

Interviews are complete! Thank you for your patience this week as this pulled us offline quite a bit.  Tomorrow school board member, Julia Brim-Edwards will be visiting around 9:30. I am not sure how long she plans on staying. We will be visiting classrooms and taking a look at whatever else she would to see.  THANK YOU to Donna Morden and Cheryl DeGroot who organized an expectation review for our 3rd graders in cafeteria today. I was able to join them for this review and appreciate their solutions based approach.  I have MANY emails to sort through from this week. I will try to carve out some time tomorrow for this. I am sorry if you are waiting for a reply. I am going to throw the towel in for the night!

ONE MORE DAY. WE CAN DO IT! Please be sure to take a deep breath, your patience pill, and get ready for what may be a turbulent day. Remember many of our students will be anxious about the break and the lack of structure. Give them extra love! I hope you all have the Spring Break of your choosing...rest, adventure, catching up...whatever your heart desires.  If you are needing to come to the building during the break please text me in advance. The district is discouraging staff from coming into the building over the break. Your badges will still work, but we have been asked to have staff run their by administration first.  We will have parents in the building for our first in person coffee tomorrow. Tomorrow the United States Department of Agriculture Undersecretary will be joining us for lunch. We will host a few visitors from USDA and ODE/Oregon Dept. of Agriculture. I am sure some district people will also join on the visit. They will arrive around 10:45 and be here until close to noon. This visit was shared with us today so THANK YOU to our kitchen staff for making things happen fast.  We have been working with the ESL team to make some adjustments to schedules. We are using student needs as our guide, along with teacher input. The ESL team member working with you will contact you directly in regards how to how services will look in your class.  I will be sending out some information to duty staff tomorrow to help determine the winners of the pickle party. What is a pickle party? Basically, a huge jar of pickles will be brought to your class and we will eat said pickles together (with the principal). Again, the focus was on the classroom who has had solid recess behav...
