It is a late edition of the Weekly Forecast. I admit to drawing out the break until late this afternoon. In reality, I chose to sleep in a bit and then had to drive home from Pendleton and am just now getting back to focus on gearing up for the week ahead. I hope you all had a restful, adventurous and productive break (choose the best adjective....the best breaks include all three in my opinion).
We are now heading into the part of the year that seems to be on fast forward. The next few months will speed by. We will state testing and the end of the last quarter are looming. Please buckle up and embrace the next few months....we can do it!
- Please take a moment to review your specials schedule and lunch/recess schedule to ensure you are on time for drop off and pick ups. A few minutes at either end impacts others and can cause unneeded commotion.
- There will be no snacks tomorrow and Tuesday. Snacks will start up again on Wednesday.
- A big thank you to teachers with students wrapping up ELPA the Friday before break. Your flexibility is appreciated! Also, a shout out to our ESL Team as they did a great job preparing kids for this assessment. Our students took their time and put a TON of effort in.
- Please take some time this week to review school wide expectations and classroom expectations with your students. It is imperative we all take part in this to ensure students are reminded of what we want them to be doing. The time after Spring Break should serve as a fresh start and making adjustments to classroom management plants, discipline, etc need to happen now to get your through the end of the year. I used to stand outside my classroom upon our return from this break and act like it was the first day of school, "Hi. I am Mrs.Dickey welcome to my classroom!" I would walk into the room and go over things just like I did on the first day. Utilize some time this week to reset. We also ask you to review expectations for: bathrooms, hallways, cafeteria, drinking fountains, recess. If you have any questions or need support with this please let Tami, Emily or I know.
- Theresa sent out information to K-5 teams on PLC work for this week.
- We will begin working to determine priority students for Summer Acceleration in the next week or so. Please start thinking about your students who could use additional interventions and supports.
- This week is first round internal interviews for next year will be taking place. We made every effort we could to try and schedule these for outside of the school day, but some interviews will be taking place during the day. Just a heads up that Emily, Theresa and I may be unavailable as a result.
- SUN Confirmation and Waitlist Forms were sent home today. Below is the link to the electronic list of all students enrolled in SUN or on the Waitlist:https://docs.google.com/

- As you know contract evaluations will not be done this year and probationary evaluations were extended until May 1st. Emily and I made a personal commitment to have these done before we left for Spring Break....we almost made it. I have one that will be completed this week that I could not fit in before the break.
- Julia Brim-Edward one of our Board members will be visiting Harrison Park on Thursday. I will send out a reminder on Wednesday, but we may be coming into classrooms.
- Cami Curtis has been working to arrange a visit from some of the cast members from Hamilton. We are hoping for this event to take place on April 19th. Fingers crossed everything works out!
- Right before the break I asked for input on improved recess behavior. Marie Dunn's class won a "pickle" party. We hope to do some more positive behavior incentives in the coming months!
