I am headed out in a few minutes to get my Booster and prepare for tonight's SEGC Meeting. Here is a link to the meeting. You are welcome to watch on YouTube. The meeting runs from 6-9.  https://www.youtube.com/ channel/UCTOk9wS- GWpQPVoDeOuD3BQ/featured Tomorrow morning we will hold a stand up meeting in the auditorium to go over the proposals that will be shared tonight. This is not mandatory. IN THE EVENT my booster gets me good I will have someone make an announcement and may do this virtually. In the event of this it will be announced before 8:00. Because I have a plan B I will definitely be here!  We will be using the online conference scheduler. More details out soon.  In the event students wear costumes tomorrow we are not going to make a big issue about it. Per the district's dress code pretty much anything would be allowable. The exception is racial, drug/alcohol references and things sexual in nature. Student faces should not be covered (full masks) and n...

Nightly News October 27th

Conferences!  We have started the process of scheduling interpreters for conferences. Homeroom teachers PLEASE turn in the class lists with language preferences that were handed out last week. We only have five that have been turned in.   Linked below are the two options we will be using for conference scheduling. Please vote by 12:00 tomorrow. We will be making a decision at that time.  The first option is to use an online scheduling program that allows parents to make their own appointment. It also sends out reminders, links, etc. to them. Teachers and office staff can access it as well and plug people in. The drawback of this option is specialists and others may have difficulty being able to determine when classroom teachers are holding conferences. We would have to work through this a bit more to fully know.  The second option is to use the same Google Doc we used last year. This document is not accessed by parents, but is easy for all staff to view. It wil...

Nightly News 10/26

ESL will be utilizing Fridays to ensure they have enough planning time and to do small group work with students needing additional support. We will begin co-planning time in a few weeks. Please be aware they will not be in your rooms beginning this week. Let me know if you have any questions.  Middle School teachers grades are due by November 8th.  I have added a stand up meeting on Friday morning. This is optional. There will be two proposals brought to the SEGC on Thursday evening. Both of these proposals have large impacts on Harrison Park and I would like to talk about them with you all directly as soon as I can.

Nightly News 10/21

Thank you for participation in today's drill. I was with a parent until 10:20 and was a bit discombobulated going into it. I guess that made it more authentic?  Thank you for showing up daily. I know we are all feeling tired and sometime's hopeless. Take a moment to check in with someone and offer support.   Please fill out this   short google form   for the counselors I will be leaving tomorrow around 1:45. Emily will be here. Just letting you know.

Nightly News 10/20

Emily will be out tomorrow morning. She should be in around 11:30.  Oh where oh where have the tech carts gone? We are looking for a few tech carts. I am not talking about the ones that were pillaged by the district in March of 2020 that many people have chosen to keep in their room for storage/charging purposes, but rather the ones with actual classroom sets of Chromebooks in them. We are trying to locate them ASAP. Our K-2 carts have arrived and we hope to dispatch these out to classrooms next week. The district is counting two that were given to us for summer school in our total and we need to ensure these go to K-2 classrooms. If you have a cart please let me, or Kenneth Hamilton know.  As a reminder seating charts are required through the districts new SOPs. Please keep your seating charts up to date. ALL classrooms are required to have them.  The Duo 2-Step system has been extended. If you need support with this there are several resources. I will attach a slide sho...
