Please note we are making a shift for tomorrow and Wednesday's viewing of Screenagers. Instead of going to the auditorium Advisory teachers should remain in their classrooms for the viewing. Please be on the lookout for an email w/ slides and a link to the showing. Advisory partners, please be sure to check in with your teammate to see how you can support.  Staff PD will be in room 158, Georgie Steeve's room beginning at 4:00. We ask all PAT members attend including those who may have another training. We are requesting your presence at this meeting as it pertains to building wide work and we would like everyone there. If you have questions in regards to this please see me.  Spencer will be out tomorrow. Take care of yourselves and start popping vitamins it is that time of year that the crud creeps in.

We have several people out tomorrow and as of 4:30 two unfilled positions. Please hold tight to your classroom routines and avoid sending students to Buddy Classrooms if your Buddy has a substitute. Advisory partners be sure to check in with each other in the event the teacher of record is out. I made the decision to not go outside after the earthquake drill at the last minute. The announcement on the VOIP system is much more comprehensive than it was last year (or at least I was able to follow it this year). There is some conflicting information around exiting etc. as it is highly dependent on the situation and structure. For today I felt it was less disruptive and would allow learning to continue if we opted to remain in the building. There were several situations across the building today where students were locked out or unable to use their Chromebooks for learning. Information was sent out yesterday in regards to this. I have to share something that brought me JOY today. Imagine it a lunch room with MIDDLE SCHOOLERS. Many people do not dare to step foot into our space because of said adolescents age group. In our lunch room today we had smiles, 8th grade boys singing in unison "Scrubs", banana phones, dancing and more. It was a great "vibe" as kids would say. We have started to create a great climate for our students.   Reminder that tomorrow we will hold our Earthquake Drill @ 11:19. A reminder that is is: Duck-Cover_Hold On. Students should get under a hard surface (such as their desk) and avoid areas where things can fall on them (bookshelves) and stay away from windows. Teachers should also get under a hard surface. Once the drill ends you would take attendance, get your emergency forms/bucket and exit the room to your regular fire drill location. My apologies for the late transmission. I just got in bed and remembered it was not sent before I left the building today.  We are still waiting for items for break spaces to arrive. Weird how Amazon can next day deliver so much but when an order is lost it can take a week or two! Regardless, at this point in time all classrooms should have a break space identified. We will put more info out about how to introduce this to your classes once materials arrive, but if you feel you can do this ahead of time by all means do.  My apologies for being absent from today's staff meeting. I had an appointment scheduled and did my best to reschedule it for next week, but was not able to. 

Staff meeting will begin at 4:00 in Georgie Steeves room (158). We do not have a morning option for tomorrow.   YEP will take place for boys tomorrow. They will have passes that allow them to leave Advisory and go get their lunch prior to heading to group. Please note that some students, especially 7th/8th graders, may say they are supposed to go. Fall weekends always seem so full! I was able to make it to Camp Westwind and boy that place didn't disappoint. It is definitely remote. The kids had to be "boated" in. Thank you to Ms.Lise, Ms. Steeves, Ms.Wickstrom and Ms.Cooper for attending with students.
