Nightly News for June 13th
- DEEP BREATH we are almost there. Thank you to all the staff who helped make last night's promotion a success. Special thanks to Matthew Brandt-Lazar who offered to read student names at the last minute and Mike Benson who made sure student speeches were ready to roll.
- Several celebrations will take place tomorrow. Please be sure to let the office know if you are heading outside etc. Our 8th graders leave at 9:30 and the 6th and 7th graders will be on an alternative schedule. Please refer questions to Coach Dan Carpenter. The clap out will start at 3:00. We will begin in the middle school hall, head down in front of 5th grade classrooms take a right, head down the hallway in front of Wu/136, head down the middle school hallway to the back of the SUN/Room 171 area and then head down the library/Kinder hall (Metcalf line the hallway facing the playground, Stahlecker line the hallway facing the lobby) and then will head down the main 1st-3rd grade hallway into the gym. Once in the gym we will give the kids final few minutes and then "kick them out" the back onto the playground.
- End of the year celebration tomorrow at Thatchers (7906 SE Stark St.). The first appetizer order goes in at 4:00. We know ya all have work on Thursday and packing looms overhead, but alas there was no other time to fit in a proper last hurrah. I am going to propose we have a "Homecoming" event in the fall. Heck, I will even host it. Please make it if you can. Stop by, have a drink and some deep fried goodness before the next phase of work begins.
- Thank you to Coach Marchello and Schoene for making Field Day happen. I saw a lot of smiles and happy faces...a lot of sweaty kids too.
- If you are having food deliveries tomorrow, please let the office know an approximate time to expect the delivery and where it is coming from. Items will need to be prepaid.
- If you are expecting parents/visitors etc. please let the office know as well. This avoids us calling down to your room to ask if you were aware.
- As a reminder all extended hours need to be turned in promptly. Shannon is receiving hours that are a month (and in some cases several months) old and the process for payment on these is cumbersome. She will most likely not be able to process these hours for June payroll and will work to get them submitted for July. Bare in mind she has A LOT OF end of year work to do and is doing her best to take care of things.
- We will be putting the sign up sheets for checking out on the counter at some point tomorrow. Please sign up for a time with pencil as things may shift...they always do when you are packing. We will come to your space at the specified time and go over the check list, collect keys, etc. Room that are being vacated/moved to Clark will need to have cabinets emptied, garbage/trash/recycling piled (orange tape it), broken furniture marked with orange tape. Think pretty much an empty room.
- As a reminder DO NOT take stuff to the work room and dump it there. Someone has to clean this space up. We are asking you to either pack stuff, donate it, recycle it or find a new home. Do not leave stuff for others to pick up and take care of.
- We met with PAT this morning and it was brought up that the contract states teachers who are moving classrooms are not responsible for packing/moving district materials. Please note if you are choosing not to pack district purchased materials/curriculum we can have the movers pack it for you. Please bear in mind that it may not be in the way you would like it packed. In most cases these materials will be yours to use with students next year. Please make the decision you feel is best for you. If you do decide to have the district movers pack district curriculum and materials, you need to ensure you place it in one very specific location clearly marked with signage "District Curriculum/Materials to Be Packed" and is not located near recycling or other items that you will be packing. We want to avoid any mistakes being made and items that need to be packed are not thrown out. Please note no one is being asked to move items out of their rooms with the exception of their own personal belongings. The district movers will be moving all boxes, furniture and other items that need to be moved. The district movers will be in the building on Friday to support.
- This was sent out to staff awhile back and sent directly to those who are moving. Just a reminder that the eight hours for PAT members needs to be turned in using this process/form:
