Nightly News for 25th
- Last night at 1:30 we have footage of someone entering the building through the kitchen doors. We have confirmation that they did not have a key, but used some kind of tool to enter. They were able to get into two spaces that we know of and a few things were missing, etc. We do not know whether or not these rooms were locked. Please be vigilant about checking to make sure doors are locked and latched (we have some that are sticky) and windows are shut and locked as well. Please let me know if you have anything amiss.
- Katie Newton found the flamingo today. The last clue will be given out tomorrow. Today's location was on top of the lockers near the gym...specifically A-1.
- We will begin reaching out to families of students who were identified by the district as qualifying for Summer Acceleration (Summer School). The district identified students using various data points. The district then contacted parents of qualifying students via email. As we know, many of our parents do not utilize email frequently. At this time they are asking for our support in helping enroll students. We will begin reaching out to tomorrow and early next week. If you have families asking about this option please refer to this list to see their student's name is listed. If it is not they do not meet the criteria and a spot will not be offered. Please keep this list confidential and do not have it accessible to students etc. etc. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MCrkAk_sPfRMM814HI2NCLPqcf77JxEzlvS7UDr4Uhg/edit?usp=sharing. If a student is listed please have them contact Kelly or Naima who will help with getting enrollment information to them.
- As a reminder if there are student injuries the adult that witnessed the injury, or who was the first responder. This is additional information:
Student Injury Reporting Guidelines
It is preferred that a PPS employee who directly observes a student injury/incident file the online report. We understand that many school administrators delegate this task to the school secretary; this is subject to the building administrator’s discretion.
Generally, MESD nurses will complete their own nursing documentation and not fill out a student injury report. PPS does not require a student injury report to be filed when the student is injured on the way to or from school; unless they are being transported by a PPS vehicle. Likewise, when there is a known medical condition unique to a particular student, such as seizures. In these cases, it is advised that the school monitor the student's health and be aware of the circumstances; however, it is better to submit a report if you are unsure.
Below are circumstances when PPS requires a student injury report to be completed, preferably within one workday of the incident. Each example, alone or in combination, warrants a student injury report.
- The injury requires the student to leave school or the school-related activity for medical treatment.
- An ambulance is called, whether or not the student is actually transported.
- A parent notifies the school that they have taken their child to a doctor because of an injury received at school.
- The injury may have been partially or wholly caused by a physical condition of PPS grounds, equipment, the facility, or by a staff member.
- An injury experienced while on a field trip that requires first aid or professional medical attention.
Instances that involve a parent/guardian being notified that their student was injured in a minor way at school are subject to a school’s discretion. Here is a link to the reporting tool: https://live.origamirisk.com/Origami/IncidentEntry/Welcome

Moving Info
Here is the link to the moving FAQ. This has been shared out several times. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ipWEQYI9gDgzzHmmXS3dPN-dbKw3NW4mwnVVxWv2WQY/edit#gid=0
As a reminder the building will be open on Saturday June 3rd. We will let you now if other weekend dates become available.
Several district folks, Shannon and I did a walk through of moving needs today and are making notes of things that need to be accomplished by June 16th. I will be reaching out to people specifically if there are things that need to be addressed. We did request more boxes and got a clarification on a few things. We will be ordering some orange tape that will be used to mark furniture items and other "stuff" that needs to be recycled, thrown away, etc.
For those remaining in classrooms here at Harrison Park we are waiting for some more information on contractors to find out what expectations are for the end of the year in your spaces. My goal is to have a checkout list completed by June 2nd with a detailed check list around room closures. Deep breath.
