I hope your weekend included time in the sun and maybe even catching the Northern Lights. I tried, but didn't have any luck. I am late getting this out as my only wish today was to have my family help with some yard projects. We got an early start and accomplished a lot, but I am just now sitting down to HP work.
- Regina will be out this week.
- We are OSAS testing this week. Our hope is students take testing seriously and do their best. There has been a lot of training provided, information sent out and preparation done to ensure we have optimum testing conditions and smooth sailing. Questions, concerns, etc. were hopefully addressed and you are all feeling confident in the process.
Testing Notes
- 1. Supplies were sent to classes Friday. If you had a sub or weren't in your room it is likely still in the office. SSID cards and a class list with SSID numbers are in your mailboxes if you didn't receive them. These need to be locked up. *Please note the teacher's name on the SSID card does not matter.2. The testing order is ELA CAT, ELA PT, Math CAT, Math PT - except for a few kids who have notes attached.3. ELA PT and Math CAT have 2 parts. When the student finishes part one they will get the end of test screen to verify their answers before moving on. Then they will push next. The test administrator will have to approve them again to move on.4. Brenda, Kenneth, and Tuang will be supporting loaners in the lobby. Please use classroom loaners 1st. Then send students to get a loaner. Chargers won't be loaned out. Students with devices that aren't charged will be helped last. They will also be given a loaner and their device will be charged while they test. Loaners MUST be returned at the end of each test session. Please remind your students. Incentivize bringing them charged! If an entire class is able to bring them, there will be a prize (TBD).
5. There has been a change to the MIP introduction lesson for advisories.
- 6th grade will continue to have theirs during the last 15 minutes of the test session on 5/20 - At this point, we expect less than a class full of students will remain testing. These students will be with Karen.
- 7th/8th grade will also be done during the last 15 minutes of the test session on 5/20. This will take a bit more planning in terms of how and where classes are collapsed.
- For all grades, an email regarding collapsing classes will go out Monday.
- Thank you Theresa for serving as our testing coordinator. You work is appreciated! On that note, if you have any questions or need support the easiest way will be to text Theresa at 503.407.7326.
- A reminder that ALL PHONES need to be turned in. If you need support with this please let Leah, Spencer or Dan know.
- If you are taking attendance and see a student coded HLT (health exclusion) please call the office. This means this student is health excluded from school and most likely will need to go home.
- PLCs will meet for content team planning this week. Theresa will be available for most meetings if you text or email ahead.
