- Offices were opened up and moving took place on Friday. Our counselors, Lindsay and Regina are now located in the Wellness Wing (I am coining that). Regina's office (actually a storage room) is not permanent but will be in place for the remainder of this year. Theresa will be in 174C. Malia and Amy (Community Partners) will be in 174A (closest to the cafeteria). Our health room has moved out of the library and is in its new location. If students ask to go to the health room do your best to remind them of this change. I have also moved into my old/new office. Spencer will remain in 140. We will be using this space to hold parent meetings, etc. as well. Herk is still in limbo and will find a final location ASAP. Finally, Chukwu will be located in the corner office in the library upon his return on February 19th. This was the health room. Whew. I think that is it.
- Wednesday we are holding district Instructional Rounds. Principals from several middle schools will be visiting classrooms as well as Chris Fraizer and other central office staff. I will share out more by Tuesday. Please be aware that the library will be closed from 8:30-12:00 on Wednesday for this purpose.
- Lunar New Year begins this Saturday. We will begin celebrating this Thursday. Please note Ms.Bee has been working with many of our MIP students for performances here, at Woodstock and at Clark. She has provided notification to teachers. If you have questions around this please direct them to her.
- Our final round of MAP testing will take place on Monday and Tuesday. Monday we will use the Library 6th & 7th Period. Tuesday we will use the cafeteria 1st and 2nd period. Here is a list of students. We will be testing new students as well.
- While we hoped to offer two sessions for staff meeting (AM/PM) there are weeks this is not feasible. For this week we will meet at 4:00 in Room 123 (Schoene/Marchello) please bring your Chromebooks. We will be reviewing MAP data as well as some safety compliance. VAPA, reading, sped, you have district sessions. I will follow up with an email around our work Tuesday.
- Thank you to those who attended the Black History Month meeting on Friday. We have some plans sketched out and will meet again finalize. I will be meeting with a group of students on Thursday for input and planning purposes as well. Please feel free to share projects, plans, etc. with me so I can share out.
