Morning Minute for February 7th

  •  This week is National School Counselor Week. Thank you to Ruth & Michelle for their work with students. They were rewarded with a fantastic new Wellness Center. Kidding aside we are thankful for you both.

  • A reminder to be vigilant about taking attendance. Our 10/10 rule should help ensure no students are out of class when you take attendance. We know the beginning of a term can present some shifts, but we are almost a week in and things should be settling down. Today we had a student who was marked out sick by the office for several days. They came today and were still marked absent as the parents didn't call to say they were returning. Their 6th-period teacher called to let Naima know they were actually here and asked for the ILL to be removed. This was not brought to attention until late in the day . I know it can slip by here and there, but we have to do our best at ensuring we are aware of who is and is not in class.
  • Our para position will not be filled this year. The district has taken back this position. Just wanted to let everyone know.

  • There will be a Web Leader Check-in at lunches on the 14th and 19th. Web leaders will be out 5th period. More information to follow (names of students etc.) but wanted to give everyone a heads up in advance.
  • A reminder that we have Instructional Rounds from 8:30-12 tomorrow. You may see adults out and about. They should have ID on. I will be focused on this for the duration. Spencer and Regina will be involved in parts of tomorrow's rounds.
