Morning Minute for February 29th


  • Tomorrow we will be on PM Assembly schedule. As a reminder students should attend the assembly with their 7th period teacher. We ask students tp leave backpacks and personal items in their lockers or 7th period class and that they do not bring them to the assembly. We will try to have the assembly end by 3:40 to allow for students to return to grab their items. Students will not be allowed into the assembly without their teacher. 
  • I will be out at Leadership tomorrow. Depending on the agenda I may return for the assembly. Fingers crossed. 
  • 7th period teachers tomorrow we need your help. Please be sure to pass out permission forms for the Spring Fling. We will not be allowing students to email, text or have parents call to give permission at the last minute. Students will receive bracelets for entry on Friday morning only. We will not be giving out additional bracelets throughout the day as forms trickle in. We are aware that parents will likely drop forms off. Those late forms will be held and students will be allowed to enter after all  students with bracelets have entered. Last Activity Day we had a few teachers who forgot to hand out forms and this forced us to allow students to turn them in at the last minute. We are working to hold students accountable and want to hold fast to this policy. You can support this by ensuring they get the forms. Please note that a message went out to all parents via Remind today to let them know 7th period teachers will be handing them out.  Thank you. 
  • Tomorrow is School Colors Day- Please sport your red, blue or black....depending on which grade you think is best....
  • I did not see this before I sent the Morning Minute for today. Thank you to Valerie for making sure our students had the opportunity to participate in OBOB. Valerie sent out a message out with the HP team:  Ayub Mohamed, Elijah Barish, Xunji Cooksey, and Assad Abdullahi.  They will be representing HP at the OBOB regionals tournament on March 9 at Happy Valley Middle School.   Go Panthers!
  • Welcome to Molly Ryan Jones. Molly is an experienced middle school teacher who is filling in for Amy Liu. She will be with us through the remainder of the year. We appreciate her stepping in and supporting our students. 
  • Heads up we could use some extra hands Friday morning to support getting wristbands on students. Naima will be solo in the office on Friday as Shannon will be out. I will be out for a good chunk of the day for appointments I had to reschedule from a few weeks ago. If you are able to support please let Dan know.

Morning Minute for May 8th

 A reminder that lunch will be ready to roll tomorrow @ 12:40 in the staff room. We will be serving burritos and tacos.  A shift in the schedule. We will serve desserts on Friday and Italian sodas on Thursday.  Please note orders for Italian sodas need to be turned in by Thursday at noon. These can be put in Leah's box. If we do not have an order form one will not be delivered. These were handed out at staff meeting yesterday.
