Monday February 5th


  • Testing will be in Room 130 1st period and TBD 2nd period. Please note this is a shift from what was put out earlier. We are almost done! 
  • Advisory teachers, please be sure to put the Reflection for Semester One in Theresa's box. If you have any specific questions see her. 
  • We will hold our staff PD in room 123 (Schoene/Marchello) starting at 4:00 tomorrow. Please bring your device. 
  • We are mostly moved into new office spaces. Please be sure to remind students if you send them of the new location.
  • Seeing several students out and about within the first and last ten minutes of classes. Please adhere to the 10/10 rule. Students need to be in class for the first ten minutes of the period and the last ten minutes. The exception would be if they are reporting to testing or a prearranged activity. 
  • A reminder that we have three photo copies for staff use. Two in the work room (161) and one in the library. If there are problems with these three machines please report to Naima. The office copy machine is for office/admin staff only.

Morning Minute for August 31st

It was fantastic to see all the kids in the building today. I had visions in my head of what it would look like, but as the kids said, "It was weird." I haven't looked at attendance yet, but it sure felt manageable. We are seeing some shifts we may make, but overall are pleased with how things went. I was able to get into most rooms this morning (missed those Science teachers!). I will chalk this up as one of the smoothest first days ever...even with construction. Well done team.  I also have to share reason #1 I love middle schoolers. Today a student swore someone took their phone. They lost it way back in the morning. They came to me and said they were tracking it. I looked a the tracker and told them to go find Coach Carpenter and Mr.Crum. Summer Forecast #2

In true summer fashion I squeezed out every single ounce before my vacation window ended. It was nice to have more flexibility and time off to relax, catch up with friends and projects but alas it is over.  I would like to introduce TWO new assistant principals for the upcoming school year. Regina Sun  joins us from Beverly Cleary K-8 and Spencer Crum from Ockley Green. We will discuss the delineation of duties when we are all together. I am excited to have a full team ready to serve staff and students.  I warned new hires the building was going to be under construction and we will all need to be flexible this year. When we officially were kicked out on June 23rd, rooms had been assigned and I felt confident we would be in good shape upon our return. Well as with any remodeling project there were unexpected issues that came up. In our case it was firewalls, or lack thereof. The good news is we never had a fire. Morning Minute for September 26th

Bus Drills are today (or tomorrow depending on when you are reading this). Below are videos that need to be shared with your 1st period classes prior to going out to the bus. The district is sending seven buses and we are fairly certain we can fit all our students on them at one time. Please wait until the overhead announcement is made and then make your way to the buses. Historically they are located in the cafeteria parking lot. This may be a bit different this year. Everyone will need to come through the lobby as it is so we will have someone direct from there. Schoene, Jernigan, and Coggins please leave your classes at 9:30  (since you don't get the announcements).  Spencer and Regina will direct teachers to buses as they exit the building.  Please note the timing of this is not ideal, especially with our testing schedule.
