Empathy Interviews

I hope you all had a peaceful Winter Break. I know mine began at a breakneck pace trying to ready everything for the holidays. It certainly wasn't enough time to accomplish all of the household errands/chores I have on my list, but alas January is typically pretty slow so maybe then?

I had hoped to sneak into the building yesterday, but ended up throwing a last minute NYE party and didn't make it. I am planning on going over later this afternoon after I clean my bathrooms...ugh. That being said, I don't have any news to report and am assuming no news is good news in this case. I will update those staff members around office spaces etc. after this visit.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the last day before Winter Break a success. I know it was a lot, but students left for break on a positive note which was the goal. We will assess and tweak things a bit for next year.

Finally, welcome back Theresa! You were missed.

  • For those in new spaces tomorrow IT will be here to train everyone on how to use the new projectors etc. Please plan on attending. We will have support in the building to ensure your equipment functions properly. I know you all have a lot of work ahead of you tomorrow, but hopefully this training will be a valuable use of your time.
  • I will be sending emails out to staff who are not impacted by the move later this evening. If you are not moving into a new space we will ask for you to support peers or work on other projects for the good of the order. Everyone should be present in the building for the regular hours of 8:15-4:00. We do have staff meeting (see below) but this work can be done off site.
  • We will meet in the library @ 3:30 tomorrow to go over a few things prior to student's return on Wednesday.
  • Theresa will be sending information for Pepper training by noon tomorrow. Please note tomorrow's staff meeting allows for 90 minutes to complete this task (4:00-5:30). You are welcome to complete this off site, but ALL staff need to complete the training.
  • We will not hold PLCs this week. We have not had regular PLCs for a bit and will resume them with regularity next week.
  • We will be working on getting new evacuation routes posted in rooms ASAP. Our first fire drill will be on Thursday at 2:15.
  • Support staff/Admin will be conducting Empathy Interviews during Advisory this week. An invitation to those who should plan on attending an informational meeting will go out tomorrow morning. This will be held at 10:30 in room 136. More info @ staff meeting tomorrow.
  • We will be working on getting conference invites out tomorrow and Wednesday. More info forthcoming. As a reminder Conferences will run next Wednesday and Thursday from 4:30-7:30 and the following week on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Hours are mandatory.
