Morning Minute for January 3rd

  • Thank you to everyone who pitched in today and helped get set up for tomorrow!
  • Conferences for IEP, ESL, 504 and Kid Chat students have been scheduled in the linked spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1UTq4_qBKkld-TUjtVGPEwEEMyescSfJHzGg25A3V1js/edit?usp=sharing). We have left Tuesday the 16th open for families requesting online conferences. Our hope is to mail out invitations to families for next week's conferences (Wednesday & Thursday) by tomorrow. We will also be sending home invites through Advisory before the end of the week. Invitations for the following week (Tuesday the 16th and Wednesday the 17th) will go by the end of this week. We will be sharing out information for families who would like to request an online conference (Tuesday the 16th only), or those who did not receive an invite and would like to come in, via Messenger and the Newsletter. If there are students who you would like have parents come in for, and they do not have an assigned time,  please find an available time and let Naima or Leah know and they will add them to the sheet.
  • Advisory teachers you received new ID cards for students. Please collect their old one prior to handing them their new one. We would like to keep the old ones in the event they lose their new one.
  • 6th Grade Kid Chat will NOT be held tomorrow morning.
  • A few reminders for students tomorrow:
1. We do expect to see lanyards visible. Please provide those students without lanyards a sticker.
2. For students who have lockers in the area that is now "shut down" please let them know they will not be able to access their lockers until next week. If they have something they need to get please have them come to the office and we will help facilitate this.
3. 7th and 8th graders all need to go to lunch for the first ten minutes. We will no longer be allowing them to go directly outside.

  • Empathy Interviews  - Starting today empathy interviews with students will start. These will take place until we meet with every student 1:1, prioritizing each student who didn't MEET both subjects MAP last time to be done this week. Interviews will take 3ish minutes per student.

Advisory partners will try to pull students during Advisory however, we will need to pull at other times too. If someone comes to meet with your students and it's not a good time, it's okay to let them know. We appreciate your flexibility.

  • MAP Testing - Reminder - Next week we will test MAP every day and run on the "Testing Schedule". Theresa will email more information later this week. There will also be an optional meeting regarding the setup of testing on Friday at 8:30am in room 136.
  • You should have received a Gift Certificate to arrive half an hour late at some point in time. Please be sure to utilize this gift by turning it into the office on the date of use. Thank you Zach for modeling this!
  • This just came up, the Fire Marshall wants another Power shutdown tomorrow, Wednesday, at 7am for the new wing.  Sorry for the short notice. This should last 15-20 minutes and should not impact anything for tomorrow.

  • Rolando has asked that we save the moving boxes that were handed out for the move. If you could flatten boxes and put them in a neat stack in the pile located at the back of the building (near classrooms being shut down) that would be fantastic. We will reuse this for moves at the end of the year....hopefully there are fewer.
  • Please note we will be closing the back parking lot (located behind the building between the two playgrounds) starting on Thursday. This is to facilitate furniture moves, equipment etc. We also are expecting some new fencing to go up in this area. I know this is a bummer for those of you who utilize this area.
