Morning Minute for January 23rd
- Conferences are tomorrow night from 4:30-7:30. We will set up rooms as we did the last time. Title One Compacts will be sent to conferences with families as they come in. Dinner hosted by our PTA will begin at 3:45.
- I will be out of the building for Instructional Rounds at Hosford tomorrow. I should be back by 12:30.
- A reminder we are testing MAP testing tomorrow.
1st-3rd Period- 8th Grade
3rd & 4th Period- 7th Grade (8th graders who still need to complete tests as well)
6th & 7th Period- 6th Grade as well as 7th and 8th graders who need to complete tests.
If you have a student who is on the testing list and it is imperative to their grade they need to be in class please let Thersa know. This would only be the case if you are having students take a test/assessment or they have to do a presentation.
- It is my understanding the movers will be here to move staff into their new offices tomorrow. There are some loose ends to tie up in regards to spaces. I will be available by phone/text if there are questions.
- It was discovered this morning that we had a break-in over the weekend. The area targeted was the back part of the school where the construction offices/equipment are largely housed as well as our technology storage. Dan worked with the PPB to file a report. We do not believe this was due to a door being left unlocked/latched but rather the result of someone with experience at breaking into buildings etc. Unfortunately, it is a good reminder to keep your personal items locked up and to check doors as you enter and leave the building.
- From Georgie Steeves: In the recent room move a few things have disappeared. I'm missing a pretty important box labeled with my name on it and I'm missing my ginormous periodic table poster. It's 6ftx4ft but rolled up. Let me know if you spot it. Thanks!
In case you missed this information sent out earlier today (Monday)
Wednesday the 24th- Those students teaching 8th graders should report to the 8th grade teams meeting on Wednesday. This meeting includes district represenatives to discuss our 8th graders and their transition to high school etc. It begins at 8:20.
Thursday the 25th- Thursday will no longer be a late start. We will be on a regular schedule this day. We received notification of this at 8:30 this morning. Again, there is no late start on Thursday it is a regular school day. We will not hold our originally scheduled arts showcase assembly on this day and will run a regular schedule. ILT will meet at 8:00 this morning.
Monday the 29th- Please note this is a grading/work day and not a PD day. I heard from a few people this morning that they were not aware of this and they thought it was a PD day.
Online conferences will be held this evening from 4:30-7:30.
Tuesday the 30th- Grades submitted by 7:00am. We will continue to have students follow their 2nd quarter schedules. Please note students in choir, band and dance will be holding rehearsals during the day. More information on this will be forthcoming. We wanted to ensure you are aware for planning purposes. Counselors and Admin will use this day to make quarter three schedule changes.
Other Info-
We are asking for all grades to be submitted no later than 7:00 on Monday the 30th. Naima will need to check things over and submit grades before we can begin schedule changes. Once your grades are complete please let Naima know so she check you off. Please note I am aware the official deadline is midnight on the 30th. If for any reason you will not be able to complete your grades by the morning of the 30th please talk to admin so we can work to support you in completing this.
- Dead Week runs Wednesday the 24th-Friday the 26th. This means no new assignments will be added to the grade book.
- Please be sure to share with your students when you are closing your grade book for quarter two. We will discuss this in PLCs today and tomorrow.
Wednesday the 31st- Our hope is to begin new student schedules and 3rd quarter on this date. Please note this is dependent on our ability to finalize schedule changes on the 30th.
Friday the 2nd- We will be on an assembly schedule. The assembly will be held in the morning. This is our Arts Showcase assembly.
