Morning Minute for February 1st

This is not the format I would like to address this, but it something that needs to be centered sooner as opposed to later. Yesterday a staff member shared that a specific group was something that drained them (Team Ukraine). Some of you may have heard me reply that we will definitely need to discuss this. I heard it and was caught off guard. Throughout the evening I continued to think about it. I know my sense of humor is often edgy and at times I can say things and instantly have some regrets. We all do.  It is important we call out biased speech and ensure we are not perpetuating it. This punctuates the need for us to continue our equity work and the need for us to establish an Equity Team.  Tomorrow we will be on the AM assembly schedule (listed below). Students will go to 2nd period. At 10:35 2nd period teachers should escort their class to the assembly. Please note we will not allow classes to enter without their teacher.  For those staff with 2nd period prep...

Morning Minute for January 31st

As a reminder the following people will be at the SIT training tomorrow: Ruth Howard, Michelle McMillan, Leah Dickey and Dan Carpenter. Leah & Michelle will be here to support until around 10:00. I will be available via text/email. If students don't like their schedule or feel like there is a mistake they still need to follow what their schedule says tomorrow. Do not send them to the lobby/office unless they do not have a class listed on their schedule. Please be sure to be vigilant with attendance as there will be lots of shifts.  Tomorrow and Thursday are GREAT days to review expectations in your classroom. Don't forget to review your syllabus and grading as well! ARGHHHHHH I just realized I failed to introduce Ryan Murphey who will be teaching our 6th grade Math classes until after Spring Break. Welcome Ryan!   Are you a multilingual licensed teacher interested in developing your skills and advancing your career? OSU's TEAMS grant allows you to earn a Dual Language S...

We are nearly ready to put quarter two to rest...may we never have one like it again.  Tomorrow we will be using the Staff Lounge as our schedule change command post. People are welcome to come in and use microwaves, the massage chair etc. but I wanted to give you a heads up. Be sure to have your list of who you saw for Conferences. We will discuss @ Staff Meeting  Staff Meeting will be from 4:00-5:30 tomorrow. The last 15 minutes are for PAT. Please bring your charged Chromebook.  I forgot this in the Weekly Forecast, but Theresa was on top of it. Tomorrow we will be running our last (hopefully) test session. We will test students in the Cafeteria Periods 1-4 and in the Library Periods 6-7 .  Students will stay in the test space until done unless they are marked to leave for AVID or Music/Dance. If they leave for AVID/Practice they will return until done.  The first tab on this document shows wha...
