Morning Minute for Wednesday the 20th

  • I sent out an email earlier today (Tuesday) that we will proceed with January 2nd as a non-student day. I will begin working out details now. I know our day will run from 8:15-5:30 as we are supposed to have a staff meeting that day. Please plan for this to be the case. Clearly, we may make some adjustments as things fall into place. All staff are expected to attend. For those moving into new classrooms there will be an orientation on the new tech equipment in your spaces at 9:00. 
  • We may have some parents dropping goodies off for lunch tomorrow. I do know there will be pizza that shall arrive at 12:45. BYOB (beverage people...school appropriate beverage)
  • You may hear this through the grapevine, but new tables are arriving in the cafeteria tonight! Students will probably be abuzz around this and it will change some entrenched seating habits in the cafeteria. 
  • Clarification around pajama day. Traditionally we have worn pajamas on the last day before Winter Break. This is the plan for this year. However, because we have Festivus, a new tradition we are making a decree that you can wear pajamas or festive gear on both days. There is no right or wrong way. Be festive, be comfortable, be joyous. We are halfway there. 
  • Here is a link to an extensive document that has lots of information about the Carnival Schedule. Please take a few minutes to review. I am sure there are some errors (I am trying to track while feeling under the weather). All PAT members have an allotted time for their 30 minute lunch (five minutes for passing) and 50 minutes of prep. Most of the day is accounted for with various activities/duties. Please communicate to Leah if there are any concerns, questions, or issues. Carnival. This document has LOTS of info on it so you may want to just focus on the parts that list your name or are applicable to you.

Morning Minute for June 11th

We will be on a PM Assembly schedule tomorrow, Tuesday the 11th. This is a shift from our original plans. I sent an email out earlier this afternoon to let everyone know we will be canceling the building wide WIN time. We did not have much entered in the spreadsheet designed to determine where students should be receiving support. My apologies to those of you who did make efforts to make this happen.  We will be reviewing what is in the spreadsheet and may be able to pull students who need a quiet space to catch up on things. If you have any questions in regards to this please feel free to direct them to me. We will have assigned seating for tomorrow's assembly. We will dismiss classes using the intercom. We will begin releasing classes around 2:40. Students should leave their backpacks/belongings in classrooms. To my knowledge there are no groups being pulled out tomorrow. Monday the 3rd 6th Grade Chromebook Turn In Tuesday the 4th 7th Grade Chromebook Turn In Last Staff Meeting @ 4:00 AVID Awards & Family Night @ 6:00 Wednesday the 5th 8th Grade Chromebook Turn In MIP Capstone Night @ 5:00 Thursday the 6th 8th Grade Beach Trip (Leave @ 10:00) Last Day of SUN Programming Friday the 7th 8th Graders Return We are heading into the final two weeks. This week will be busy with several night events and Chromebook turn in. Please hold to building and classroom expectations. The more normalcy we can provide the better. We do not have any alternative schedules this week so hopefully that keeps things "normal".   We will not hold PLCS or Kid Chats this week.
