Morning Minute for December 14th
- Dr. Calvert and Chris Frazier did a tour with me today. Dr. Calvert asked for some specifics on moves and I just shared that with her. She will take this information to Franco, but is advocating that we have a non-student day on January 2nd. I have asked that we be given an answer by the end of this week so we can share out with our families ASAP. It sounds like Dr. Franco will make the final decision. I am hopeful.
- Secure the Perimeter Drill tomorrow (Thursday) @ 2:15. https://sites.google.com/pps.net/pps-emergency-management/drills?authuser=0 . Here are the basics: Secure the Perimeter
Activated when there is an unsafe situation outside the school building. Designated
personnel are assigned to secure the exterior doors to the building.
Students:
Return and remain inside the building. Business as usual inside the classroom.
Maintain Situational Awareness.
Teachers:
Bring everyone indoors. Ensure exterior doors are locked. Increase situational
awareness. Take attendance.
NOTES:
It will be really important to practice ensuring that all exterior doors are locked. Staff
should know and understand their roles and responsibilities in ensuring that all exterior
doors are locked and secured.
- The building will be open from 10:00-2:00 on Saturday for those who would like to get a jump start on packing. As a reminder, four hours of extended pay are available for packing up rooms. Please let me know if you plan on coming in. I will ask you use the front entrance if you plan on coming in.
- I met with Damon one of the project managers, today and did a walk through with the Inline team. I was able to get some of the questions from yesterday answered.
What if I need more furniture? Once you are in your new space you can determine what additional items you may need (within reason). We can look at possibly ordering additional items or finding a solution. We will work together on making this shift.
Can I keep furniture I currently have? The movers will not be moving furniture into the new spaces. Furniture will remain on site for another week or so (January 1st-8th). Once you are in your new space if there is a true need for old furniture in your new room we can work on having it moved. The other furniture will be taken off site after the 8th (or so).
Offices (Counseling, Admin, Health Room) are looking like they may take a bit longer to complete and move in may not happen for another few weeks. If impacted you would remain in your current space until the new one is ready. I will let you know when I get more information. Inline is saying they think they can have them ready....I am going with it is unlikely. Maybe I should place a bet.
Please reach out to me if you have specific questions in regards to the move etc.
