Morning Minute for November 30th

  • We are starting Quarter 2 tomorrow. Please anticipate there will be confusion especially for 6th graders who are starting a new wheel class. We will have schedules printed out for 6th graders only. If 7th and 8th graders need schedules, we will print them out as needed. Assistance will be available in the lobby for students.
  • We will be doing our November Fire Drill tomorrow at 9:45. This will be the last 15 minutes of 1st period. We have to get this done tomorrow. I know it is not ideal.
  • Boxes are on the way. Boxes are only for those people moving classes.
  • Alas one more reason I appreciate your patience in waiting to begin Q2 until tomorrow. This is from some district communication: Currently, Q1 in Canvas is open until December 8th, which allows teachers time to complete their grading in Canvas and for students to complete assignments. Because of the extension of this date, it is overriding the ability to create a new assignment for Q2 until that time. As an example, if a teacher wanted to create a new assignment today for Q2, it would default to Q1 because of the way the dates are set up. The current solution is that if a teacher wants an assignment in Canvas to appear during Q2, they should set the due date for December 8th or later. Teachers who need support can submit a ticket via the Support portal or emailing

  • If students do not have their lanyard on we are providing them with a name tag sticker. We are doing a soft start right now and will be doing a lot of gentle reminders. We will share out more on Monday of next week. We will also answer questions that have come in.

  • We will begin selling locks next weeks. The goal of giving students lockers today is so they can begin to practice etc. Please send questions, etc. to Spencer and we will fine tune our use of lockers. Again, this is a soft start with troubleshooting taking place until we firm up protocols etc.
