Morning Minute for October 12th

  • Natalie was able to escort students yesterday to Camp Kuralti, and Regina made it today. Here is a glimpse into their learning:
  • I will be here for a bit in the morning and then am headed out to Camp Westwind. There will not be a Morning Minute for tomorrow as we will all be in different places/spaces. I hope you find your learning valuable.
  • Schoolhouse Supplies secured sponsors, procured supplies and worked with over 200 volunteers to prepare supplies for your school. Now we need to plan for next year and would love to hear feedback

Please take a moment to participate in a short survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/JTBCLPD

As an incentive, the school that has the most teachers and staff complete the survey by Wednesday October 11th will receive ten $5 Starbucks gift cards! Today is the last day!

  • Update on our calm down/reflection/break spaces. We asked for these to be in place ASAP. Our order of supplies for said spaces was lost and we are now waiting on items again. We will get these out upon arrival. In the meantime please have this space identified in your room and plan on going over it with all your classes next week.

  • This was sent out in Admin Connect  this week. I wanted to see if anyone is interested in leading this event. If so please let Leah know.

Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day - November 14th

Six year old Ruby Bridges stepped into the history books November 14, 1960, when she became one of the first students to integrate William Frantz Elementary School in New Orleans, becoming a national icon for the civil rights movement. Today her story continues to inspire the next generation of leaders to end racism together one step at a time. Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day (RBWTSD) is the perfect opportunity to teach children about the civil rights movement and make connections to today's collective efforts for change. RBWTSD gives children the opportunity to celebrate Ruby's courage by walking to school. Incentives like Ruby Bridges stickers and bookmarks are available for ordering throughout October.
