MAP Testing

Thank you to all the staff who stayed to support our 6th Grade Mixer. There was a lot of Karaoke, very little dancing and many smiles. We appreciate your support in making this happen for our kids.

  • We begin MAP Testing this week. All questions in regards to MAP should be directed to Theresa as she is our testing coordinator. For those with duties etc. please adjust your reminders. If you do the first 15 minutes of lunch normally, you would do it the first 15 minutes here as well, just earlier. The schedule is available here: HP Schedule

  • SUN begins on Monday. Hours for SUN are 3:45-5:30. Students participating in SUN need to report to the Cafeteria at the end of the day. Students not involved in SUN will need to leave campus as normal.
  • Tuesday we have district bus drills taking place. This is a district function and we were given our date. We realize the MAPS testing will take place on this day, but it will not impact the actual assessment time. Unfortunately it will impact 2nd and 3rd period instructional time.
  • We are hosting two sessions of our PD this week. We will announce room locations tomorrow. Our focus is district directed Climate work around Restorative Circles.
  • We have a shorter list of mascots and will be narrowing the list down to three by the end of the week. Spencer will have details out on this.
  • As a reminder Harrison Park PAT staff is expected to attend professional development on the 13th. This is extended pay for you.  PFSP you do not work this day.  We will put out more details of said PD.
  • This was sent out late morning on Friday. My apologies for not sending it out sooner. Here is the check in spreadsheet for Advisory. If you did not get to all your students please make an effort to get to them at some point this week. Advisory Check In
  • Weekends at Harrison Park are never boring these days. The contractors have been busy at work this weekend installing lockers. These are our permanent lockers and more will be coming eventually.  There is enough in the building for our current students. Lockers are anchored BUT will be removed over the summer and permanently attached after floors are completed. We will need to have a discussion on lockers in the next week or so and come up with our plan to use them. Things to begin thinking about: Do we want to institute a rule of no backpacks in classrooms? How do we contend with students who continually need to go to their locker? How will this impact students getting to class on time? Please start some of these discussions in your teams/groups so we can hammer out details before we begin using them. My goal is to begin using them the week of October 9th (the following week for 6th graders). Some things to share with students: They will not share lockers, they will provide their own lock, we will have some locks available for purchase. THEY SHOULD NOT play with the lockers 😏.
