Morning Minute for September 14th

  • I will be out tomorrow at McDaniel for Leadership. Dan Carpenter is out at a training. Spencer and Regina will be here to support. I will be able to respond to texts or emails periodically.
  • Please turn in any payroll time that you might still need to report for August 16-September 15 these would be hours not put in Frontline for sub coverage.  Hours would include extended hours, IEP meetings etc.  Please turn in to me by Friday, Sept 15th at 12:00pm.  Please note that hours for the additional pay on the 22nd have already been entered and should not be turned in again.
  • We went over this a bit at staff meetings yesterday, but wanted to make sure we share out in the event it was missed. As we are limited in space, and because we have made a shift to becoming a comprehensive middle school we need to be aware that most spaces may be used throughout the day. I am sharing out with Community Partners, office staff etc. a list of available spaces during the day. Here is a link. Please let Leah, Spencer or Regina know if there are any concerns around usage. We prioritized not having rooms used during planning times, however classrooms may be utilized during PLC times.  https://docs.google.com/document/d/16pSgqj-P3wNMx3IdWJDmkT25_AOBo-d2YhVHpQ-acWI/edit?usp=sharing
  • We are asking Advisory Partners to meet at some point before the end of the week to check in and discuss anything that is coming up in Advisory. If you do not have common time during PLC time, this could be done after 8:20 in the morning.
  • We are aware of some students potentially participating in a Climate Walkout this Friday (I think that is the day). I am attaching the district's guidance on this. For middle school students here is the abbreviated protocols:  Elementary and Middle School students will be asked to remain in the building.  Parents may choose to sign their students out and participate with them. If parents plan for an adult other than parent/guardian to check out their student, you will need to update the school that another adult is authorized to pick up your student. If students leave school property, will staff accompany them? Staff will not be able to supervise students after they leave campus. Once students leave school grounds we cannot ensure their location or their safety. In the event students leave and do not have their parent's permission we will call the parents/guardians of these students to let them know they have left campus to protest.

  • Here is the direct link to MESD training events.
