The last Weekly Forecast ever. I say this every year, but once Spring Break is over the year sails past us. I am not wrapping my brain around the chaos and work ahead this next week. I know we will all be exhausted...the hard earned vacation is near! May we all find peace and positivity this week. Focus on your students and the last moments with them.

  • A huge THANK YOU to Shannon who really was the force behind the Bon Voyage Party. We had a lot of families and students. It was a positive experience and the vibe was definitely different with the focus on our K-4 students. I will say I am glad they were going home to their parents because lots of sugar was consumed. Also...we have some teachers who can dance.
  • I was slow to get this out, but this past Tuesday we held an AVID Award and Family Night to celebrate present and upcoming AVID students. AVID 7 hosted the evening filled with AVID 8 peer awards, a welcome to the incoming AVID class, a raffle of many fun prizes and an ice cream social for all. We had over 100 students and parents attend. THANK YOU AVID Team for making this happen. Tears of joy were shed. We have a lot to celebrate.

  • Total bummer with Friday's weather, but alas we will make up for it on Tuesday. The weather is supposed to be a perfect 76. Please review the FIELD DAY Slideshow prior to going out and go over expectations with your students. We want everyone to have a good time. Classroom teachers feel free to take a ten minute bathroom break,  just be sure to find another staff member supporting field day to cover your class during this time.

Please note that afternoon recesses on the big playground will also be impacted. Below are times that the small playground is available for your 2nd recess. You are welcome to come up with another plan for recesses, but we want to avoid issues with too many students on the field/playground at once.

3rd Grade- Small Playground 2:35-2:50
4th Grade- Small Playground 2:50-3:05
5th Grade- Small Playground 1:05-1:25

The Small Playground is available until 11:10 in the morning on the 9th, but can not be used after that as it has classes scheduled on it. The Big Playground is not available all day with the exception of those participating in Field Day or Lunch Recesses.

  • If anyone is interested in helping out:

Have a great summer and hope to continue working together next year!
Thanks,
Djamila

  • K-5 teachers you are welcome to take you are encouraged to take your easel, chart stands, and kidney tables.
  • There are more boxes in the office. If you have extra boxes at home feel free to bring those in. I know as we begin to pack the pile will dwindle. For now we are still having people take five at a time.
  • You are welcome to stay in the building until 8:00. Please be out of the building by then. In the event you are chained in the parking lot please check to make sure the chain isn't just pulled across to detour people from coming into the parking lot.
  • A reminder there are no snacks this week.
