Nightly News for Wednesday, May 31
- I hope the day wasn't too nutty. I hate being out of the building especially at this time of year. Tara and I are back tomorrow. Emily will be out at the training tomorrow.
- Boxes arrived. Please be sure to prioritize packing district owned materials first (that you will not need). Below are some moving tips.
- The building will be open for packing at 10:30 on Saturday. I know some of you are early risers and would like to arrive earlier, but alas I will be here potentially until after 9:00 that evening and will need some extra time at home in the morning.
- Flyers were placed in your boxes this afternoon for the yearbook. Please send these home with students tomorrow.
* Chromebook Collection Plan Reminder
- Monday June 5 - Grades 6-8 - Carts will be reissued to ELA, ELD, and Math
- Wed June 7 & Thurs June 8 - Grades 3-5 - Classes will be scheduled for collection
- Thursday June 8 - Grades K-2 - Bring carts to the tech room before school
- One of our fantastic parents is a professional DJ and will be the DJ for our K-4 Bon Voyage party on the 9th. She has asked for our input on a play list. Please feel free to ask your students (K-4) for input. Here is the link for you to add songs in, https://docs.google.com/document/d/13e-r4HJaTHKK79YdurjDZ7zZg4RLmKQvkNPDWChzi0o/edit?usp=sharing
- This was sent out directly to those teachers who have had sessions in the garden. Please be sure to take a few minutes to provide feedback:
I'm writing to ask for a few minutes of your time to complete our end-of-year teacher survey to give us feedback on your students' experiences and learning outcomes during Garden Class. This helps us tremendously with grant reporting and program improvements- we greatly value your feedback!
Please click on the link below to complete our 7 minute survey before June 12:
Moving Info
We need to look over the end of year check list and do final revisions to it, but my hope is to have it copied and ready to hand out next Monday the 5th. Please note that Tara, Emily and I will be scheduling checkouts starting the morning of Friday the 16th. More info to follow.
Paper, folders, and other recycling that we normally put in our tall cardboard recycling receptacle and bins can be bagged up and placed outside of your room. Please mark it as recycling. This can be placed outside of your classroom for pickup at the end of the day. We will also be placing "whales" (the big rolling garbage cans) in several places throughout the building. They will be marked garbage or recycling.
Garbage can be placed in bags and placed outside of your classroom/space. Please mark as such to avoid any confusion.
There is a large recycling bin for books and outdated curriculum. It is my understanding that this will be taken to a book recycler. If you have a lot of books etc. we ask that you box them up and put book recycling on these boxes. If at all possible use boxes other than the ones provided for moving (I realize this may be difficult since boxes are at a premium). If you are not able to box them up you are welcome to take them to the book recycling dumpster and put them there
Items that you feel others may want should not be left in the hall. If you can not bear to throw it away and feel someone else may want it we will have an "offer up" system starting on the 12th. Staff will need to remove items they would like donated otherwise they will be thrown away.
Furniture that is broken or unsafe needs to be flagged with a piece of orange paper or tape (we will have this available) so it can be discarded.
For those moving to Clark, please remember your furniture is not moving with you unless it is something you really want to have. For example a kidney table would be something you would label with your new room number, but your student desks would not.
We will have middle school students who are available to support with small tasks around packing up rooms etc. starting next Wednesday. There will be a system in place to request support. Please note only middle school students who are caught up with their work and are passing all their classes will be able to help.
