Nightly News for May 4th
- Tomorrow morning, we will kick off Teacher Appreciation with breakfast burritos and yogurt "sundaes". Breakfast will be ready to roll by 8:15 in the staff lounge. Drinks will not be provided.
- The building MAY be open on Sunday from 12:00-3:00. Originally, I had planned to be here to support Madagascar set building but am now leaving for a conference earlier than anticipated. Tino will be opening up the building. Staff is welcome to come work in rooms etc. Please enter through the front doors and avoid using any other exits etc. to ensure the building is properly secured. Your badge will not work to enter the building BUT you are welcome to call the number posted on the door or people will be in the lobby/auditorium that can open the door for you. We do ask that you are out of the building no later than 2:50. Please note there is a possibility this may be postponed due to some other circumstances. I will email that information in the event we do need to cancel.
- Another round of boxes arrived for packing up rooms. Instead of moving them into the custodial storage area we are going to leave them right outside of the office. Please feel free to take 1-5 boxes and labels. Please do not take more than five boxes to ensure everyone who needs them gets a few this round. HP/ClarkMoveQ&A
- We have book recycling headed to HP next week. This is for book recycling only. If you have outdated district books, books in disrepair, etc. you are welcome to use this dumpster. Valerie will be the expert on what goes into this dumpster. As you begin to purge you can make arrangements for the "whale" or other large recycling receptacles to be available in your room or area. Send this request to Tino and CC Shannon.
- The Safety Team discussed moving safety this morning. Please be sure to review the packing/moving instructions attached in the original email with the Nightly News link. Try to avoid packing exceptionally heavy boxes. If they are heavy, please label as such. As you begin packing, please make sure boxes are not stacked too high and will not tip over onto students etc. Keep the safety of students in mind. While we encourage you to get a move on this (literally) we also want to ensure we the classroom environment is still conducive to learning. There is a fine balance here. I will be giving some tips in the coming weeks!
- Theresa sent an email out for some additional support needed around OSAS testing. We ask any available staff to sign up. We hope to avoid "forced" assignments. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1rYgXPd3qc-2a_58a7jqCwsbztpD6rtByvfq3gIcOM7w/edit#gid=0
- There is a new folder in the shared drive called Transition. This is where we are putting info on moves and other transition information.
