Nightly News for Mary 17th

  • Last night I shared dates of several events that will be coming up. We are making our best effort to communicate as much as possible because we know the end of the year gets hectic. If your class/program is planning an event in the next few weeks I am going to ask that you send a Google calendar invite to me, Tara, Emily and Shannon. This will allow us to support and keep things straight. Additionally, the office often gets calls for information on events and we want to be able to field those calls. 
  • Correction- AVID Awards & Family Night is June 6th, not the 8th. 
  • Tara and I will be at Leadership tomorrow. Emily will be here. 

 All K-5 Science Kits are DUE BACK THIS FRIDAY, 5/19

  • Please have materials clean, back in the bin, and ready for pickup in your school’s designated area by the end of the day on Friday, May 19. 

  • Kits will be picked up by the bulk truck anytime between 6:30 AM on May 22 and the end of the day on May 26.

  • Even though it is nearing the end of the year, it is imperative that all kits are returned in mid-May. Melissa and her small team at Science kits work hard to refurbish all of the K-5 and middle school science kits, and time allocation is tight. We want to ensure that all K-5 science kits are refurbished and ready to be in buildings for next school year.

  • From Georgie Steeves: I know it's last minute but let's do a Happy Hour thing this Friday at the Observatory's bar Over and Out (8115 SE Stark St)  from 3:30 on.  There are so few Fridays left with the entire staff altogether in the one building that I didn't want to miss any.

Morning Minute for May 8th

 A reminder that lunch will be ready to roll tomorrow @ 12:40 in the staff room. We will be serving burritos and tacos.  A shift in the schedule. We will serve desserts on Friday and Italian sodas on Thursday.  Please note orders for Italian sodas need to be turned in by Thursday at noon. These can be put in Leah's box. If we do not have an order form one will not be delivered. These were handed out at staff meeting yesterday.
