I sat down to finish up the Weekly Forecast, peruse emails and notes from last week for things to add and at this time am not seeing a lot of information to share. I hope you were able to enjoy the sun yesterday as this looks to be rainy...I am over the weather.
- Please fill this out: BuddyPartner - Google Forms. To clarify Buddy Partner is the person you send your students to if they need a time out/refocus in another space.
- On Friday we had a few visitors come out to talk about moving our curriculum and get eyes on the building for moving purposes. They were impressed with Valerie's organization and felt we were in good shape. Kudos to her! One thing to note is there will be a process for packing up current district curriculum that is checked out to you (Wit & Wisdom for example) for the move. They reiterated that all outdated and non supported curriculum (Bridges etc.) should be recycled/discarded. As we have talked about purging now will benefit you in July!
- The building will be open on Saturday from 10-2 for a Madagascar work party. I will be here a bit before 10:00 and will have it open for anyone who wants to come in to support the work party or work in rooms. We will have a 2:00 hard stop as I have another commitment at 2:30 and need to be sure the alarm is armed.
- The Portland Metro STEM Partnership is offering a number of paid learning opportunities for teachers this summer. We are reaching out to a select number of schools to give them a priority registration opportunity. You will find the information flyer with the registration link attached. There are a number of classes offered in asynchronous and synchronous models. Compensation at $50/hour is offered but space is limited. Please share this information with the teachers and educators in your building.Priority Registration Ends on Sunday, April 23rd at midnight.
- Here is more information about the upcoming Thanks a Million Teacher Appreciation Event on Saturday, May 6th. We are excited for this awesome event where we will celebrate 1,000 local teachers and provide over $1 million in supplies and gifts as a culmination of National Teacher Appreciation Week.
Staff with an approved account at the Free Store for Teachers are eligible to participate. All Free Store for Teachers shoppers have received a personal invitation. Please help us remind your teachers to reserve a spot at the event by sharing our Thanks a Million flyer with them.
