Nightly News for Monday April 10th

  •  I hope your day was productive. I was able to check some things off my punch list.
  • Emily is out at a district meeting until around noon tomorrow. I have a dental appointment and should be in by 9:15. Jill will be in a bit after 8:00
  • It is with a heavy I share that I share Mary Del Rio passed away in late March. Darrel Gilbert let me know this morning. She was taken to the hospital and passed away there from congestive heart failure. I know many of you worked with her over the years. At this time, I do not have any additional details.
  • I wanted to give everyone as much advance notice as possible. We are planning on beginning computer turn in on the 7th of June. As you begin planning for the end of the year this is certainly something to consider.
  • K-5 Team- Thresa sent this out, but I will follow up and send it here as well.

This quarter we will translate comments that need to it since we won't be meeting directly with all parents.

Here is the Report Card Folder for translations this year. It is in the shared drive.

If a comment does not need to be translated enter it directly into Synergy. (You can also copy translated Spanish comments into Synergy but, most other languages don't print correctly.)

If a comment needs to be translated share it in the folder of the language you need. The easiest way to do this is:
1.  Open the language folder you need.
2. Click 'New' and 'Google Doc'.
3. Title of the document - Your name, grade, student name, for example, "Turner - 3rd Fred."

This creates a document that is automatically shared with everyone who needs it. When the translator is done, they will add the word DONE to the beginning of the title, for example, "DONE Turner - 3rd Fred." Then you can print it to send home. (Do not send comments directly to staff doing translations, use the Report Card folders.)

If you or your team would like to use a common comment, idea linked, you can add it to the folders as well. Then the translators don't get the same thing over and over. You can just copy it to each kid's comment.

All of our in-school translators may need to adjust schedules to complete translations. This is a HUGE undertaking. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding.

Important Dates:
Week of 3/20 - No PLC to give time for report cards - specifically translated comments
3/24 - Comments needing translation outside our school are due (not Spanish, Russian/Ukrainian, Somali, Vietnamese, and Chinese).
4/10 - Record Keeping Day - Comments needing translation should be completed 1st. This makes it so our translation team has as much time as possible to complete all comments.
4/12 - ESL and Elective teachers' grades need to be completed in Synergy. Last day to add translated comments.
4/12 - Reading, Sped, and ESL - Give a printed copy of comments to classroom teachers, as needed.
4/13 - Classroom Teachers - Give printed copies of report cards and comments to the office for record-keeping.
4/13 - Report Cards sent home by the classroom teacher.
