Nightly News for April 17th
- I will be out of the building (at Hosford) from about 9:15 until 2:15 tomorrow. I will be available by text or email.
- Staff please be aware of leaving Synergy or other screens open that have student information visible. Along the same lines if you loan a computer to a student please ensure you are logged out of Synergy etc. We have a situation where a parent is getting prank phone calls and all the student's contacts listed in Synergy are as well. It is very strange and how someone got this information is questionable. We do believe it is a student.
- As a reminder please turn in a copy of report cards to the office. This should go home Friday.
- Security Services sent out some reminders to admin today and I felt much of it was worth sharing.
All staff and volunteers should be vigilant and have good situational awareness while on campuses.
At the beginning and the end of the school day, all entrances used during arrival and dismissal must be monitored at all times by teachers, security staff, or administrators.
When classes begin, the main entrance should be the only point of entry into the school. All of the other doors should be closed and locked.
All exterior doors remain closed and locked throughout the entire school day. Staff must not prop exterior doors any time during the school day. If an exterior door needs to be propped it must be monitored by an adult at all times.
All staff, contractors, volunteers, and visitors must display in plain view a proper district ID badge anytime they are on campus.
All school buildings have signs that direct visitors to the front office. All visitors and volunteers are required to sign into the Raptor system located at the main office on arrival and sign out when leaving campus.
All volunteers must have cleared the PPS volunteer background check prior to serving in a volunteer capacity.

New Portlanders for students honorees who’ve recently made Portland home
Sí Se Puede for Latinx student honorees
Take Flight Native Pride for American Indian and Alaska Native student honorees
Young, Gifted, and Black for African, Black, and African American student honorees
We recognize that our students are diverse and their excellence is nuanced. If you know a student who deserves to be recognized and celebrated for who they are or what they’ve accomplished, please nominate them to be an All Star!
To nominate a student, please use this form. Nominations opened Tuesday, April 11, 2023 and will close on Monday, May 1, 2023. Students will be honored on Thursday, May 25th, 2023.
Nominations can be made by teachers, staff, parents, and community members.
