I am looking forward to being back in the building Monday. It had been awhile since I have been at a conference during the year (may actually be a first). I know we have a great team that made this possible. Unfortunately, the conference wasn't spectacular, but I did glean a few nuggets.
This next two weeks will surely be fast and furious and today's time change will punctuate the grogginess for the next few days. Hold on, Spring Break is on the horizon.
- This week internal interviews are taking place. Between Harrison Park and Clark there are 17 positions we are interviewing for. Some positions had no applicants, others had 9+. That being said Monday through Wednesday will be devoted to interviews. I will be taking part in all interviews for both buildings. Emily will take part in the Harrison Park interviews and Jill will take part in the Clark interviews. We have invited Theresa, Dan, Kara and some others for various interviews. The goal is for an admin will be open at all times. Please be aware that responses to classrooms may be delayed. We ask that you lean on Tier I interventions and call for safety or highly disruptive behaviors and email/document smaller issues. We will be using Stephanie Jones to respond, sub and fill in for various interviews as well.
- Speaking of Stephanie, our SE Classroom will be officially closed as of Thursday the 16th. Wednesday is the last day for our final two students. Four students from 136 have had IEP reviews and will remain at Harrison Park for the remainder of the year. Para Educator, Mikailia Morgan will remain here to support these students as well as other Special Education students. We are working on solidifying her schedule. We will make decisions around what happens to room 136 in coming weeks.
- Shannon will be out tomorrow, Monday the 13th.
- ELPA testing continues this week. Please be supportive and mindful of our hardworking students as this time can be one of high anxiety for them.
- ALL staff should be "attacking" the OSAS test preparation and training via Pepper. If you have questions please reach out to Theresa. I myself have this on my to do list.
- I know that Middle School teachers have a meeting around Multicultural Night on their schedules for the week. We are struggling to find an optional meeting time for K-5. We will work on this. In the meantime feel free to email me with any questions.
