Nightly News for March 23rd

  • A big Bravo to Coach Carpenter and Ms. Moore who headed up Multicultural Night this year. They had many student helpers (see one of my pictures to prove it). I also want to thank the staff who signed up for this night event. I know this is a long week and we are all chomping at the bit to get to our break...thank you.
  • Tomorrow's K-5 assembly will run from 1:45-2:15. Middle school is 11:23-12:08. They will attend with their 3rd period teacher. If your class is opting not to attend the assembly please let me know. I will send out a specific time for classrooms to head to the auditorium  and which door you should enter by tomorrow. Again, if you are NOT planning on attending let me know by 9:30 tomorrow morning so we can adjust this as needed. For those attending please be review the following expectations with your class prior to coming to the assembly. I am putting this in more detail here, but you can also review the  Matrix)

Enter quietly with hands to ourselves

Sit where your teacher asks you to sit

Talking to neighbors in a voice level one is okay until it is time for the performance to start

Cheering and clapping are okay at the end or beginning of the performance (watch for the cue cards)

Screaming is not okay

Feet should be in front of you off the back of seats

When you are leaving please push your seat up

When the assembly is completed follow your teacher back to the classroom

  • Please take a moment before the end of the day tomorrow to ensure students clean out desks of any food items and/or things that can attract ants. I would even suggest spending 15 minutes at some point to do a solid desk/room clean up...you will definitely appreciate this when we return.
  • The building is accessible during the break for those who would like to come in. I strongly encourage you not to (it is a BREAK), but in the event you want to come in the hours for accessibility are 8:00-3:00. I believe badges should work, but in the event they do not enter through the front doors and use the posted number to gain entrance.
  • As today was the first day of fasting we are looking to find ways to streamline things for those fasting etc. Any staff at lunches please let me know if you have questions or need support (K-5 lunches). I know middle school lunch has been taken care of. In terms of prayers  we decided  1:37 would be appropriate start time so the majority of those participating (MS) can go to their 5th period after lunch and get a pass. They will have from 1:37-1:47ish to wash up, pray and go back to class. Girls will be in Emily's office and boys will be in Dan's office. Students who need a mat are expected to provide their own.
