I hope you are all enjoyed your weekend. I wasn't able to catch basketball games this week as I had a conference to attend on Friday evening and Saturday. I am hoping to catch up a bit around the house today. There is never enough time!

I want to take a moment to honor and recognize our school counselors Ana Kennedy and Ruth Howard. I am going to include our QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Care Professionals), Audra Mahoney and Rachel Ronning. These staff members take on many burdens from our students, and us, throughout the course of their days. I am appreciative of the work they do and the student centered way they lead.

  • We are looking to add some members to our Instructional Leadership and Climate Teams, both elementary and middle school. These teams are being restructured right now to begin planning for next year's transitions.  As part of the restructuring, we are completely dividing the elementary and middle school groups. There is an instructional team and a climate team at both levels that meet in the afternoon for work sessions. Then the 2 teams meet together in the morning times to discuss the work and get feedback, as well as to get school updates to share with peers. 

Generally, this will mean meeting 1 Wednesday morning, 8-8:30, per month. Then paid 1-2 Wednesday afternoons, 3:30-4:30, per month. If you are interested in being a part of this work please email Theresa, Leah, and Jill so we can include you on communications. 

  • We will meet in the library for our staff meeting on Tuesday and will split into two groups from there. Please bring a hard copy of your classroom management plan. Our focus will be Climate/MTSS. 
  • The Book Fair will be taking place in the library this week. PTA will be running it. 
  • Cami and Joel are going to be putting on a school musical. This will be open to students in grades 3 and up (I may be wrong on that...it could be 4th). More information will be coming out this week. 
  • Please be sure to let Jill or I know of any activities you are planning in your room around Black History month. We would love to share them with our community.

Morning Minute for May 8th

 A reminder that lunch will be ready to roll tomorrow @ 12:40 in the staff room. We will be serving burritos and tacos.  A shift in the schedule. We will serve desserts on Friday and Italian sodas on Thursday.  Please note orders for Italian sodas need to be turned in by Thursday at noon. These can be put in Leah's box. If we do not have an order form one will not be delivered. These were handed out at staff meeting yesterday.
