- Emily will be out on family leave through the end of this month. I have asked her to avoid checking email and to focus on her family and their needs at this time. At this time please try to avoid sending emails her way as I don't want her mailbox to be massive upon her return. I ask that emails you would typically send to her are sent to me and Jill Bailey (jbailey2@pps.net). We will be working on delineating some of her duties to Dan Carpenter, Theresa, Jill and myself. On this note, Jill and I will be coming around to middle school Advisory classes tomorrow and Tuesday to introduce students to her. We will also let students know of Ms.Moore's absence. We may receive some additional support in her absence, but for right now our team will be filling in.
- Tomorrow morning @ 8:15 Karl Logan will be here to talk with staff about the Clark Principal, feedback survey, etc. This is an optional meeting, although those planning on making the transition to Clark are strongly encouraged to attend. I realize this may eat into planning time, but believe people should still have the prescribed 320 minutes this week. Unfortunately, with cadres tomorrow this was the only time we could find.
- Here is the link for the Clark Feedback Survey.
It is especially important for those planning on remaining with our K-5 students to fill this out.

- Last week you were encouraged to review classroom expectations and some time around strengthening your classroom climate upon our return from Winter Break. Emily typically oversees the schedule for building wide expectation reviews and I failed to get on top of this. That being said, we do ask you to review the following with your classes this week. I will leave it to your professional judgement to find a place in your schedule to fit this in. Here is a link to our building wide expectations:
Monday- Entering building/Hallways
Tuesday-Restrooms
Wednesday- Recess
We will do this at lunch recess with staff who work with your students and ask you to do it at your class recesses as well.
Thursday- Cafeteria (we will do this in the cafeteria)
Friday- Review office (do not need to bring them down) and anything else you did not cover throughout the week.
- We will be fine tuning and sharing out our OSAS/ELPA testing schedule by the end of this week, or early next week. Please note that in the event you are planning field trips, classroom experiences/speakers etc. you are avoiding scheduling that conflicts with your testing weeks.
- For those of you who have volunteered to put together our prize baskets for monthly drawings please note that there is a $50 limit. I believe it may have been communicated as $60 earlier, but the district's limit on this type of recognition is $50.
- SUN questions should be directed to our SUN Cordinator, Lilly Zeitlin. Her email is lzeitlin@pps.net. SUN begins next Tuesday the 17th and will run Monday through Thursday from 3:15-5:30.
- A reminder for all staff. If you have students who are remaining after school for any reason please call the office and let Shannon and/or Naima know. We often get calls from parents looking for kids and if we are not aware this can create panic. As SUN, tutoring, basketball and other activities begin to ramp up this will be even more imperative.
- Snacks are back up and running. Please be sure to send a student to pick up after 10:00 daily.
- I am so excited for this Saturday and our first student basketball games! My deep appreciation to Danelle, Jessica, Herk and Kara for coaching. I know many others have stepped in to support as well. Links to schedules and additional information. Please direct questions to Danelle Hauth.
These are the basketball schedules for now. They are subject to change and there are 4 more games after these 3.
Please note our conference room will be occupied on Monday and Tuesday after school to finish the BB shirts/uniforms. If anyone would like to assist with this Danelle, and her recruits, will be printing and cutting out numbers and ironing them on. They can certainly use some assistance!
Our teams are:
5th- Ward / Bulldogs
4th boys even though it's co/ed Campbell/ Bullpups
3rd Foreman/ Lil Pups- boys and girls teams
Practices are still every Wednesday and Thursday
