I am easing back into work. I listened to my own advice and tried my best to focus on my family and taking time away from work so I could return refreshed. I know I woke up this morning with my mind racing...it is time to get back to work. I hope you all had a well deserved break full of the things you love the most.

Here is a video I found a few days ago and I thought it was worth sharing. To new beginnings and reminders of why we do this work. https://youtu.be/XPdD4zYHJLI

  • I went into the building last Thursday to get an eye on the construction.  They did get the lockers out and people were busy working away. I was not able to get a close look at the hallways as they were blocked off. I am anxious to see things in the morning.
  • The custodians were in the building during the break, but were not able to get to some spaces due to the construction. If you have needs or issues that pop up tomorrow please email Tino and Shannon so they can be addressed ASAP.
  • Emily and I assumed because there was no school today we were not having a staff meeting. This is actually not the case and the district calendar shows we are to do OSAS test preparation. All  staff  are to complete the 2 Pepper classes, read the Oregon Test Administration Manual and read the Oregon Accessibility Manual. This is a lot to get through and we ask that you use tomorrow to complete the readings ONLY.  We will utilize time in PLCS to complete the Pepper classes and ask questions.  More information to follow. So for tomorrow please complete the readings. Please reach out to Theresa with any questions. If you choose to utilize 3:30-5:00 tomorrow for other tasks, please ensure you complete the readings within the next two weeks.
  • We will not be holding PLCS this week in order to give you time to prep for students and get back into the swing of things.
  • I anticipate we will have some students return tomorrow with heavy hearts. Please take time to check in with students and welcome them back to your classroom community with positivity. If you hear anything of concern be sure to share this with our counselors or Lindsay.
  • On that note please spend ample time this week reviewing classroom norms, school expectations, etc. We will be putting out more information on school wide expectation reviews tomorrow. Use tomorrow to go over your classroom norms and build up that community. Time spent this week will help get you through to Spring Break!
