It looks like a busy week ahead. We are packing a lot into four days! Tuesday we will have district MTSS staff in the building to conduct our FIT Assessment. Several staff members have been asked to participate in interviews and provide input to their team. We will be utilizing the conference room for the entire day. The district office is also hosting virtual principal interviews on Tuesday from 3:30-7:30.  I will be out of the building for Instructional Rounds and Leadership on Wednesday and Thursday. Jill will be here.

Jill and I have started to find a groove. Please feel free to defer to her with any questions you may typically ask Emily or I. We are working to communicate regularly and I absolutely trust her judgement. It has been great having her insight, input and knowledge.

  • Information went out in regards to High Dosage Tutoring. We will begin working to identify students and plans around this. At this time I am aware of three staff who have made this commitment. If you are interested, or filled out paperwork to participate, please let Jill and I know.  Please note Jill will be taking the lead on this.
  • There is no staff meeting this week. We will meet next week.
  • I received the staffing timeline late Friday. I will be making a huge effort this week to focus on legwork, transition work, research, that needs to be done prior to this work. I want to go in with as much information as possible in order to make sound decisions. I know the impacts of staffing are huge for each of you and I do not take this work lightly.

  • I was able to make it to the 3rd grade girl's game and 4th grade coed game on Saturday. Our 3rd grade teams both won as well as the 5th grade boys. The 4th grade team lost, but worked very hard. They have an enormous team (if anyone is interested in helping out let Kara know). I saw several staff members in attendance. This means a lot to our kids. I cannot tell you how thankful I am to everyone who has made this happen for our students.
  • Please note that SUN begins Tuesday and will run weekly Monday through Thursday moving forward. It is very important to let the office know if you will be hosting students after school. We anticipate some confusion as parents can often forget their students are participating in SUN, Campfire, basketball etc. The office needs to be aware of who is where at all times. When a parent calls they often have to track kids down and this can become time consuming and parents then get anxious. Along the same lines, Lily communicated out SUN schedules to students and staff. If you have questions please ask. We know the first week or two will be a little hectic. I guess the ask is to take a minute to review this information in order to avoid confusion later.
