Nightly News for January 4th
It is with great enthusiasm I want to welcome Jill Bailey to our Harrison Park team. Jill will be serving as the interim planning principal for the Clark/HP Middle School transition. A retired PPS administrator, she recently has supported at Beverly Cleary K-8, Kellogg, and Richmond. Prior to retirement Jill spent nine years as principal at Maplewood (feeds into Wilson) and served as a Special Education director. This development was shared with me late yesterday and she arrived this morning! I spent much of the day catching her up on all things HP. We will be working together to determine how to utilize her help and expertise.
I will be working on delegating some of my day to day work to Jill so I can begin to focus on transition work. Emily, Jill and I will work as a team to develop lists of the work that needs to be done to prepare for next year in both schools. I am EXCITED to get moving on things and am happy to be able to do much of this work on site. I will continue to communicate out shifts in responsibilities etc., but please know we are taking a team approach. Please welcome Jill to our team.
- From Ana to K-4 teachers: Counselor-led SEL will begin again the week of 1/9. I will send everyone a calendar invite to schedule lessons for your class. We'll be focusing on friendships and social skills for the next few months. As always, I'm open to collaboration if there is a specific issue that you'd like me to focus on with your class. Thanks!
- Hello Harrison Park Teachers, thank you for your help with distributing Winter SUN Registration Forms! If your students need extras, there are additional forms in the Main Office. On Thursday, January 5th, I would greatly appreciate it if you could please make an announcement to remind your students that this Friday, January 6th is the last day to turn in SUN Forms. Forms can be turned into the SUN Mailbox in the Main Office. Forms must be turned in by 12pm this Friday. Thank you so much for your help! - Lilly Zeitlin, HP SUN Manager
- I have had several inquiries around our health curriculum from parents prior to the break and this week. All health curriculum is available to parents online and I have directed them there in some cases. Prior to teaching your health units I am asking that you give parents a heads up. We can discuss this more in grade level PLCs in more specifics around units parents may object to, but I wanted to give you a heads up to avoid any potential issues later.
