After our beautiful October, the cold November rains have definitely settled in. I hope you found Friday productive and it gives you the boost you need to get through the next few weeks.
- The report card window closes tomorrow at midnight (Monday). Please be sure you have met this deadline. K-5 teachers report cards should go home on Friday. I would like to have consistency on this so please do not send them out prior to this. Also, please make sure if you have not scheduled a conference time with families that you assign one to them and send it home with report cards. If you have questions in regards to conferences please feel free to come to the optional meeting on Thursday morning at 8:00 in the library.
- We will have testing going in the Hall lunch space from 11:35-12:10 on Monday so avoid this area as much as possible. This may include rerouting to lunch. Theresa sent out some specific messaging to those impacted.
- This is National School Psychologist Week. Thank you Dr.Dodson for your dedication and work for our students.
- DJ Dickey was spinning tunes on Friday. Congrats to Conni Brenner on being the 7th caller. She correctly identified, Eddie Rabbit's "I Love a Rainy Night".
- Please give a very warm welcome to our new 2nd grade EA, Laleia Freeman. Her first day in Ms.Fitzgerald's class was Thursday. She is very excited to be here and we are to moon to have her!
- We also want to officially welcome Ruth Howard, our Middle School Counselor. Ruth comes to us from Kellogg Middle School. Prior to her move there she was at Bridger so she is familiar with many of our students in the upper grades. I want to thank Ana for having the patience of a saint the last two months. You are a loved!
- I will be out at NCI training tomorrow. Emily is back from her conference. We will be back to normal on Tuesday.
- Tuesday our AVID students will be conducting tours for students and families from Atkinson, Hosford, Bridger and Vestal. The purpose of these tours is simply for people to see the building. The middle and high school transfer window opens on 15th. I wanted to give families an opportunity to see the building prior to this date. We have had some parents demand tours on the spot and I am working with the other schools to provide this opportunity in a way that will not take resources away from our students in the middle of the day.
- Wednesday we will be hosting principals from the other K-8 buildings in the district for Instructional Rounds. I will be working on a schedule and will share out by Tuesday with those classrooms we will be visiting directly.
- Thursday is Apple Harvest. Thank you Ron and Valerie for making this happen. If you have signed up to help thank you! A sign up for cider making slots during the day went out last week, here it is again: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ShDH3YYgUtLrgSvMqPqAlh1ZVJBCMGt-EmmIEw7-EZc/edit?usp=sharing
- I sent the Conference Spreadsheet out the other day, but did not copy the link correctly. Here is the correct link. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11exDXKs1dusWTeZghCScLFqE55tf0Ut9sKtKKD0zkkI/edit?usp=sharing Please be sure to update this in real time so we can work on interpreters and assist if parents call the office to schedule appointments. We will be meeting this week to work through some of the issues around interpretation.
- Thank you to Danelle for spearheading the effort to get our kids signed up for basketball teams. I am excited for the season and know the benefits this will bring to our kids.
- A big round of applause to Cami and Joel for their work on providing our students with an opportunity to perform in front of their peers and families. We will work on advertising for next quarters night performance. Those who came out were supportive and happy to see their student's in action.
