Nightly News for November 2nd

  • There are only 12 more school days left before conferences. I have asked our veteran teachers to reach out to newer staff members to check in and see if they have questions or need support around scheduling appointments and managing all the tasks associated with conferences. Information went out last week letting staff know that securing translators will be a significant issue this year and we want to secure them ASAP. Looking over the K-5 conference schedules this morning there are many staff members who have either not updated this document or have not scheduled conferences yet. Here is the link for this purpose: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11exDXKs1dusWTeZghCScLFqE55tf0Ut9sKtKKD0zkkI/edit?usp=

We will be providing time during PLCs in the coming weeks as well as time at our November 15th staff meeting (approximately an hour) for conference prep.  Normal prep should be utilized for this purpose in conjunction with the additional time provided.  We will hold an optional Q&A session next Thursday morning @ 8:00.

Conferences are a proactive way to build a relationship with families and my hope is we can reach at least 90% attendance. This is doable, with all of us working together.

Shout out to Laura Jenness and Karena Wu for scheduling all of their conferences! Tim Schulze is doing a stellar job too.

  • This was sent out last week, but I will send it out one more time. This is the link to the t-shirt order for Apple Harvest. Please note if you order one you will need to pay Ron Huff. Please fill out this T-shirt google form if you would like to order.   https://forms.gle/E7WvUmgWCQqNH3aK7
  • Tomorrow is our last performing arts performance for 6th-8th grade. Students should report to their 6th period class. Teachers need to take attendance and then may bring their class to the assembly. We will direct classes where to go. To avoid having students return to classrooms at the end of the day we will ask that they bring their backpacks/belongings with them. We will release all students from the auditorium's side doors and out the back of the building, as normal.
  • Tomorrow evening Cami and Joel will host a performance for the families of their middle school students. All are invited to attend. This performance will run from 6:00-7:00. Students who are performing should leave after school unless they have signed up to stay after with Cami. Students will be with her until the performance begins. Performers will be allowed back into the building at 5:30. We will begin letting parents/families in at 5:40. All students in attendance will need to be with an adult or will not be admitted. Staff you are of course welcome to attend. Thank you and Cami Joel for providing these assemblies for our students.
  • PFSP staff should report to the building on Friday. Para educators,  I will send you an email in regards to specifics around this. If anyone else has questions please ask prior to Friday.
