I cannot believe November is upon us. This month always flies by and the much anticipated and needed Thanksgiving break is suddenly here. This past week seemed to be a little calmer (in my opinion). I know many of you are trying to focus on the positives and it does make a difference. I also see interventions working for several students. We are making growth, inch by inch.
- Theresa is out all week. Emily, Mike Benson and Elin Wickstrom will be out on Wednesday and Thursday as they are attending a Middle School Conference. We will have coverage for Theresa to help with duties, etc. but PLC support and instructional coaching will not be available. I will do my best to fill in!
- Construction of our bike parking area will begin this week. They will be delivering the roof on Monday (don't ask me what this means). I am working with the contractors to keep noise to a minimum during instructional time and have reached out directly to those impacted.
- Report cards will go home with students on the 11th. Since conferences will take place a week later we will not be doing our normal work around translation, etc. Comments on report cards can be fairly basic. We should be encouraging all families to attend conferences for more information in regards to their student's progress.
- K-5 teachers I sent information out in regards to conferences. Please make scheduling a priority this week. We are going to struggle to secure interpreters and have already began a lot of behind the scenes work around this.
- We will be holding a middle school performing arts assembly on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Teachers please review assembly expectations prior to attending. Emily will send these out tomorrow as well. We will do an all call for classes to come to the auditorium for this performance. Please use the two front doors for entry. We will make every effort to direct you to the appropriate side to help ease traffic jams. If you have students who may struggle with sitting still/noise etc. please have them sit near the aisle so they can leave if needed. As always strategically place yourself near students who may need additional supports.
- Welcome Okechukwu Nwerem to Harrison Park. Okechukwu, will begin tomorrow.
- PFSP staff please be sure to check emails in regards to trainings that are taking place on Friday. If you have questions about whether or not you have trainings to attend let me know. It is a work day for all staff.
