Nightly News for October 11th
- I want to address some things that came up today and let you know I understand when you call out for support and it is not available. We are tracking who is responding to calls in the office to ensure we are providing the best support possible. Please understand at times the office and support staff have to determine where resources are dispatched. Today starting around 2:50 we had five situations that required immediate response. Every possible person was online trying to triage situations. I know several people stepped in and supported with end of day release, traffic, etc. so these situations could be prioritized. Unfortunately, we don't dictate when these situations occur...I really wish we could space them out. Thank you to those who stepped up to support and thank you to those of you who had to take care of things on your own.
- Starting tomorrow, after staff arrival, we will be shutting the blue doors that go out to the playground until they are fixed. Unfortunately, this door is not properly latching and after many reminders and attempts to ensure it is latched when people enter and exit we are still finding it unlatched. This is a major safety concern and we have reached out to the district a few times. I have let facilities know we will not be using it until it is fixed. I know this presents several issues in regards to getting people in and out of the building especially at recesses. We will meet tomorrow morning to come up with some solutions around this until it is fixed. I know this is inconvenient, but safety has to be our priority.
- Kara Campbell will be out tomorrow and Thursday. Mr.Gilbert will be filling in for her.
- MAP Testing - Reminder tests close on Thursday. The last 2 sessions for makeup testing are 10/12 at 1:45 (sorry 5th period teachers) and 10/13 at 9:30. Elementary teachers should have received an email if there are any incomplete tests. Middle school teachers, please check here. It is currently sorted by 5th period teacher.
- Fingers crossed we now have recommendations on all of our remaining open positions. I hope to welcome our new 2nd grade EA, Restorative Justice Coordinator, and Counselor within the next two weeks. I am waiting on ONE more reference for our 3rd and final SE Para for room 136.
