  • Our fresh fruit/vegetable snacks begin on Tuesday. I will share a daily pickup time in tomorrow's Nightly News.
  • Welcome to Max Krieger, our new Grow Portland Garden educator. Our first session in the garden will be this Wednesday. Max has reached out to those teachers specifically.
  • Open House is this Thursday. This is one of the required nights for all PAT members. PFSP, we strongly encourage you to come and support as well. This is extended pay for you. We have not done a Open House/Back to School Night after the start of the year for quite some time. We will discuss this at our staff meeting in more detail on Tuesday. Below is a schedule for the event. Please plan on wearing your Bulldog t-shirt.

  • Emily and I met with PAT reps on Friday morning. A question was brought up in regards to informal observations and note taking. We are not in the note taking phase yet. We will share the form we will be using to capture notes when we have it completed and will share said notes with you. This week we were looking to see if standards, learning targets,  essential questions, and the schedules were posted. This was shared out in last Sunday's Weekly Forecast. We will continue to visit classrooms this week and again, will share out our notes once we have that up and running. In another vein, please remember we have a few instructional coaches on staff, as well as our Climate Specialists. They are PAT members and do not evaluate. They will be making an effort to get into rooms as well to provide feedback and support.
  • Survey for middle school teachers for map testing
Middle School Teachers - Please fill out this survey re: MAP Growth Testing
  • Theresa will be starting a New(ish) teachers group for teachers new to PPS or New(ish) to the profession. Each session will be after school and paid. These are completely optional and you can attend as you are interested based on the agenda sent prior to the meeting. If you are interested in getting the agendas for this group email Theresa, tturner@pps.net, and let her know.
  • From Kenneth- Hello everyone!, Update! I got held up by a last minute request to be part of an interview panel for our VILS STS teammate. This took 2 hours out of my day that I wasn't planning on. I know there are a few students in 3-5th classrooms that are having problems with some CTL chromebook and that kindergarten carts need to be redistributed. This will be completed on Monday. Pinky-swears! This is my priority after distribution. Thank you all and have a great weekend!
  • Shannon and a parent volunteer will be working to fill supply orders early this week. Thank you for your patience around this.
