Nightly News for September 8th

• On September 23rd, will be the first embedded professional learning day for PAT members. As a reminder, this event is a non-student facing day for all schools. This event is mandatory for all CSI/TSI teachers and optional for all other teachers. While this is mandatory for CSI/TSI teachers, there is no make-up training. Harrison Park is not currently at CSI/TSI school, but we strongly encourage you to take part in this opportunity. All teachers who attend will be paid their hourly rate as this is not part of their 192 day contract. We will continue to update the TPL website with any needed additional information.

Please read carefully through the list of bullets below for details:

• Location: McDaniel High School and Grant High School, we will provide more information in the upcoming weeks about which sessions are being offered at each site.

• Event Time: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, 1 hour for lunch and lunch is provided. Teachers will be paid for 6 hours (lunch is unpaid).

• Pepper Registration: Pepper registration is mandatory for this event, and registration closes on September 14 at 11:59 PM. If educators are not signed up by 11:59 PM on September 14, they are not able to attend. There will be no exceptions and educators will be turned away at the event site if they are not signed up in Pepper.

• Here is information to sign up via Pepper.  September 23rd Pepper Registration document. TPL will  also send out communication to teachers through the teacher portal and through a direct email to all teachers the week of September 6th and September 12th.

• Please note that some of you may have mandatory trainings (new teachers, Language!, etc.). If you have questions please talk with Theresa. 

• PFSP staff: EAs and Paras: Note that 9/23, 10/14, and 2/17 are non-working days for all classified staff under 260 working days so EAs and Paras are not included in these PD days.

• The door to room 199 (the copy room near the backdoor that leads to the big playground) needs to remain shut during the day. This room should not be accessible to students. 

• New staff if you did not get an HP T-shirt please stop by the office and get one from Shannon. Remember to wear your t-shirt on Fridays!

• If anyone picked up a newly ordered projector screen from our delivery pile in the entry way please return it to the office. It is supposed to be installed in a classroom and we are now looking for it.

• Please make sure you have a emergency exit map posted in your room. We have had a few people come to the office and get a new one as they did not have one (these seem to disappear). Posted maps should have your exit highlighted on them.  We are doing some updates and will be coming around to check rooms etc. 
• K-5 Classrooms and MS homeroom teachers,

First day packets are due tomorrow.  Please turn in your class forms to the office by tomorrow afternoon.  

You will be keeping with you the whole year the green walking field trip forms.  

• K-5 Teachers I sent out info on our school garden program. Please look for that email. 

• Middle School Teachers - Please fill out this survey re: MAP Growth Testing

Theresa will be starting a New(ish) teachers group for teachers new to PPS or New(ish) to the profession. Each session will be after school and paid. These are completely optional and you can attend as you are interested based on the agenda sent prior to the meeting. If you are interested in getting the agendas for this group email Theresa, tturner@pps.net, and let her know.
