Nightly News for September 1st

 I am HOPING tomorrow will be the last of 90 weather. It was much cooler this morning and hopefully rooms were a bit cooler today. 

  • We purchased 15 fans that were identified for the hottest rooms on my list. Ms.Dunn I owe you one, but from what I hear a fabulous co-worker gave one to you. True story, the sweat from my hand smudged your name so much I missed it on my list. Those fans that went out to identified classrooms need to remain in the classroom they are assigned to.
  • We are on the search for an item that was placed in the back "furniture" graveyard. This item needs to be returned to the district. If you grabbed it please get it back to the front office as the district asking for it's return. I know this was in the area where everything is up for grabs so I get why it was taken! 
     We have the door, but need this part...

  • From Kenneth in regards to computer distribution:  Bad news. Things have been held up on my end. Need is high everywhere and I have not been able to get the devices to classes in time. I am working with Brenda and we will be pushing out the K-4th Chromebooks to classes in the morning. They are ready to go in stacks but by the time I have started to go to classrooms the day has been almost up. 5th grade classes have their Chromebooks already. I am communicating to Kellogg that I will be needed here in the morning to get these devices out the door. Thank you all for your patience and your cooperation: ) 
  • On that note THANK you to Kenneth. He works A LOT more than he is paid for. 

  • Shannon sent this out in regards to first day packets/forms, but I will resend. Please hold on to ALL paperwork that needs to be turned in until we ask for it. With some of the moves, etc. we would like to wait just a bit. 
K-5: You will be keeping the green walking field trip forms for the entire year.  


Middle school: We can talk about homerooms making a shared list for the walking field trip forms that all MS teachers can view if any teachers decide to do a walking field trip. 

2nd/3rd/6th/7th/8th: We have scheduled our dental sealants to start here at HP on Sept 12th.  Please encourage your students to return the dental sealant forms in the first day packets by next week.

    If you were trained to do medication administration last year you can renew online. The link is on this page as Medication Administration (Sometimes names are linked to previous schools.) 
    Also, if you go under the HealthEd trainings (you may need to create an acct) you can find First Aid/CPR and other offerings. First Aid CPR is now an online course done before the 1 hour in-person course. 
    If you do any of these send Kelly Forrester an email so she can update school lists.

Nightly News for Wednesday the 9th

Tomorrow is what may be our last Apple Harvest. This event begins at 5:00 and runs until 7:00. Valerie, Elin and Ron have spent time organizing and we are hoping for a great turn out. All staff are welcome to come and support!  We are looking for a paper cutter. Daniela currently has one in the art room that is hardly functioning. It needs to be retired. I am reaching out in hopes of finding one in the building that is stuffed in a closet or drawer somewhere and could be given to our art room for daily use before  we purchase a new one. Please let her, or me know if you have one you are willing to part with.  Just an FYI I was in meetings pretty much all day. I am behind in responding to emails and will work on this tomorrow as I can and over the weekend.

Nightly News for November 1st

Please note that Shannon, or I,  cannot use the P-Card to make purchases on anyone's personal accounts. For example if you wanted to order something from Home Depot we could not have you send us your link and pay for it using the P-Card. All purchases have to be made on a Harrison Parks specific account OR the employee can pay for it and be reimbursed .   MS Arts Performance 3-5 Assembly 2:30-3:00 tomorrow. Be sure to review the expectations. As a reminder Emily is out tomorrow.

Morning Minute for September 22nd

  Thank you for everyone pitching in today. Three appointments checked off the list! I will be in all day Friday. I heard our 6th graders were a bit active yesterday. Thank you Zach for your excellent heads up.  We have our 6th Grade Mixer today (Friday) from 4:00-5:00. We are unable to offer extended pay, but I am sure if you stay to support you will have plenty of fodder for the weekend. I love Middle School socials. This event takes place from 4:00-5:00.  If you have a student needing translation of a text on their Chromebook try the Snap and Read Extension.  You can use Snap and Read. You can use this to read aloud to a student  1. Turn On Snap and Read - If you can't see it click puzzle piece and click the pin next to it. 2. Go to Options 3. On the left you can choose the read aloud language on the right choose the print change language 4. Highlight the print  5. For read aloud press the Speaker for print change press the Letter A button
