Nightly News for June 8

It was a busy day. I saw lots of pizza delivered and celebrations were occurring around the building. Thank you for making the end of the year special for our kids.  We are certainly seeing some anxious kids. Summer is on the horizon and we know for some of our students this means a time of uncertainty. We all need to continue to breath and look for the positives.

  • A reminder, especially tomorrow and Friday, to call the office if your class is going anywhere that is not in the regular schedule. Clearly, they are aware of Field Day and events that were booked (8th Grade Promotion, Metcalf Kinder Celeberation, Jenness/Yin Celebration), but any other events, etc need to be called in. We saw a steady stream of parents dropping things off, picking kids up early, etc. today and want to ensure we are aware of everyone's whereabouts.
  • Please be mindful of opening the doors for parents and visitors. If you do open the door please ensure they go to the office to check in. We have a few parents who have said "they are going to come and talk to so and so because they are upset with them". We are keeping a VERY close eye on these situations, but want to be vigilant with our security measures.
  • On that note ALL visitors need to go through the front door so we have video footage in the event of an issue. If a parent, or visitor, tries to come into the building via other doors please send them to the front of the building.
