Tuesday the 1st
- Thank you for participating in our FIT Assessment today. We appreciate those of you who were asked to participate.
- Please support our 8th graders if you can. You can order ahead at: https://thaifreshpdx.com/
- I have spotted this today: Click on the link for School Safety Lessons (K-5): Slide 20 of this resource is a new template for teaching the routine for the updated outdoor mask option beginning March 1. The notes for slide 20 include prompts for conversations with students regarding this new option. This resource can also be found on the MTSS Climate-Tier 1 webpage. Again, I will be taking a look at how recesses go to determine our next steps.
- Thursday Grow Portland and our PTA will be holding a mini garden clean up. The weather is looking meh. They will begin @ 3:30. Even helping to support for half an hour would be appreciated.
- Fire drill tomorrow at 12:20. This will be during 4th/5th recess and lunch. We will be blocking an exit to help us practice using alternative routes. Be aware of what your second exit route is.
- Remind your students to submit Caught Being Kind forms so we can continue to encourage kindness at HP. If staff would like to nominate someone you can either fill out a form or email Stacey Freeman with a student name- I don't need any other info. Watch for names on the kindness tree by the office and the grade level who demonstrates the most kindness will earn a treat at the end of the month!
District Information
- The Oregon Department of Education has curated these resources to teach about the war in Ukraine. Included are resources intended to help students with some basic facts about the situation and some reminders on being critical consumers of information. There are also SEL and trauma-informed resources to help create a positive learning environment for students who have connections to Ukraine, Russia and surrounding nations.
- Please read this message from Dan Farley, ODE’s Director of Assessment, reiterating requirements for participation in statewide testing this year and the impact summative testing has on state and federal accountability.
- Below is information around Summer Programming/School. At this time it is my understanding that Harrison Park will not be a summer site due to construction. However, our students will be served in some capacity at another site.
