Nightly News for March 14th

  • I will be out tomorrow for a medical procedure. I will be available for emails/texts until about 9:00 and will be offline until after noon. I am not sure where things will stand after that.
  • Students and staff must continue to wear masks in the health room (per OARs). If you are sending a student to the health room please ask them to take a mask, if they have opted out of wearing one. Masks are available at the door before entry, but sending them down with one if possible would be best.
  • If you are interested in potentially providing this opportunity for a student please reach out to Kim Jarvis or myself. The thirty-seventh Oregon Writing Festival will again be held virtually this year on Saturday, May 7, 2022.  This event has showcased the writing of more than 35,500 students (grades 4-12) from school districts across Oregon and has been an exciting event for students and teachers for thirty-six years.

The event will be 2 ½ hours long, with these starting times:

Grades 4 - 5  at  8:30 a.m.
Grades 6 – 8  at  9:30 a.m.
Grades 9 – 12 at 10:30 a.m.

  • K-5 classroom teachers - please fill out this survey regarding possible changes to ESL services. We will only take responses through 12:30pm on 3/15. On 3/16 we'll let you know the plan so that you (and the ESL team) can plan appropriately.
  •
  • REMINDER - Middle school students who are going to spaces other than the hall or cafeteria (library, club, classroom, etc.), need to have a pass AND check in with an adult in their assigned space before leaving. They should NOT be eating in any spaces other than the hall or cafeteria. This is important because we need to be able to account for their location in an emergency or if we need to locate them for any reason. Additionally, we are seeing an uptick in suspicious behavior.
