Nightly News for February 8th

  • Please see the attached forms in the original email in regards to some recent water testing and a faucet in the building that is not to be used until issues are rectified.

  • Yesterday we had a parent enter the back of the building near dismissal time. They went into a classroom to meet with a teacher. Please do not allow anyone to enter the building without district ID through the back of the building. All visitors, must check in through the front of the building. The office will not allow parents into classrooms without calling ahead to see if the teacher is available. 
  • I know many of you are highlighting works of Black authors, scientists and other notables this month. This was sent out to you, but am ensuring you saw it here as well: Learning for Justice offers a K-5 Curriculum that helps prepare teachers to teach hard history that includes videos and lesson plans.Travel Portland has a list of activities that are happening in Portland this month. We Are Teachers has a list of 34 Black History Videos. Zinn Education Project has numerous lessons. The National Museum of African American History & Culture has many resources and their theme this year is Through the Lens of Black Health & Wellness.
