Nightly News for January 26th
- For those of you who are thinking of potentially exploring field trips at some point at least one staff member attending should be trained to give students medication. There is a training session this Friday. Link is below to sign up.
- Yikes it is the end of the month and we have to get our monthly drill in. This month's drill is a Team Response. We will hold this at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon. As a reminder students in the hallways should return to their classrooms and hallways should be clear of everyone who is not responding to the emergency. Teachers should take attendance and have increased situational awareness. For example if the situation is right outside your classroom you would ensure your door was shut and have an appropriate conversation with your students. We will let you know when the drill is complete.
- We are welcoming two new staff members this week. Colin Cardwell, will be joining our middle school team as our new Social Studies teachers. He joins us from the Eagle Point School District. We would like to thank Laurie O'Melia who has filled in until Colin could begin. Natalie Bottolfson joins us from the Champions program where she served as our site manager. She will be our new Attendance Monitor. We will be working to identify specific students and areas she will offer support.
- Staff who are in need of COVID testing can access it at the BESC. Due to limited tests on site we can only offer testing to symptomatic staff members. As a reminder if you are symptomatic you will have to leave regardless of test results. In the event the test is positive quarantine pay would apply. In the event it is negative you would need to go home and apply sick time. Please let me know if you have specific questions. Here is info about testing at the BESC: Please see this website for updated information about hours of operation.
With increased availability of testing, the need has decreased and the BESC site will reduce hours to support other critical work in the central office and our schools.
Starting Friday, January 28, the site will run as follows:
- Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
- Hours: 7 to 9 a.m.
