Nightly News for Wednesday December 15th
- Sorry for the late entry. I left work around 7:00 and realized I had not sent out communications.
- Tomorrow we will have visitors from the architecture firm who will be doing the work on Harrison Park for the conversation. They should be here from approximately 11:15-1:00. Just letting you know.
- Installment #6 of "How to Make the Most of Your Winter Break"- Tomorrow (or today if you are reading this on Thursday morning and I hope you are) spend time planning for January 3rd when we return. What do you need for your community circles? What copies might you need? Do you need some supplies? Prep now for our return. Have a solid plan in place for Monday. Think now about how you will welcome students back. We hope you use a lot of time at the beginning of the week rebuilding your community. Retool the things that are bogging you down right now in terms of expectations. Investing time in SE learning and needs upon our return will pay off from January until March. We will be sharing a lot more about this in our Weekly Forecast upon our return, but hope is you walk out the door Friday ready to focus on your vacation.
- We hope you enjoyed a dessert today. Be sure to grab a succulent if you have not already. Tomorrow, we will have an air filter in the lobby for you. Please note these were donated to Harrison Park. After a lot of back and forth with the district (long story) we are finally getting them in your hands. According to facilities, these air filters do not meet the district specifications for air filtration systems in classrooms. They have made it clear to us they will not replace the filters in them and as a building we do not have the money to replace filters when they are needed. With that being said, you are welcome to take one to supplement what you have in your classroom. You are also welcome to take it wherever else you might need one. Since these were donated to our staff you may do what you like with this system. Do not take more than one and please ask me if you need clarification. I believe these will be placed in the lobby.
- Emails will be going out to staff supporting with Carnival supervision after this posts. Classroom teachers we are asking you to attend with your students to help with support. Feel free to take a bathroom break or a run a short errand, but we are asking you to remain with your class. Our hope (dependent on the sub situation) is to have someone come around to give classroom teachers a short break at some point during the day. Fingers crossed!
- I will be leaving tomorrow right at 3:30 to attend a meeting at the district office.
