Nightly News for Thursday December 16 (Last Edition for 2021)

  • Installment #7 of "How to Make the Most of Your Winter Break"- This is the last installment. Take a deep breath you are almost there. I am hoping you were able to spend a little extra time this week preparing for for our return next year. Preparation this week will definitely pay off!

Remember to set out your best pajamas tonight. Celebrate community tomorrow in your classrooms. Take a moment to find joy in our students. I am looking forward to the next two weeks, but as we know many of our students are facing the break with anxiety of the unknown. For that reason embrace the moment. Clean up your room throughout the day, tidy your piles and put things together so they are ready for you to leave. At 3:30 leave...go enjoy some time with your colleagues (I heard this was at the Over & Out @ 8115 SE Stark). If you were not able to get those loose ends tied up stay a bit and wrap them up with a nice bow and then leave as soon as you can. Take a moment when you are leaving to be consciously aware of taking off your keys and badge (put them somewhere you will find January 3rd). Take a deep breath, put on one your favorite music and begin vacation.

  • There will be no snack from the cafeteria today.
  • We are hoping to take a group shot of teachers in their PJS for the newsletter tomorrow morning at 8:35.
  • As a reminder ALL students get to go to the festivities tomorrow. This is our way of sending students off on a positive note. In year's past we had zero behavioral issues on Carnival Day. Things will go one of two ways tomorrow....it will be a day with little behavior issues or a ton. Let's hope for the later.
  • THANK YOU to Emily, Connie, Shannon and our Leadership Class for making this happen. They have been busy elves for the last week or two.
  • Here is a copy of tomorrow's Carnival Schedule. Lunches and recesses remain the same. Middle school will follow their normal schedule. All duties are the same. I communicated carnival duties out last night and will link it here as well. We are asking that classroom teachers attend the festivities with their class. I believe that everyone received at least 365 minutes of planning this week. You are welcome to run to the restroom or grab something quickly, but will need your support in the gyms. We do have staff scheduled to come and offer ten minute breaks to K-5 teachers throughout the day. Please note that depending on our sub coverage tomorrow we may have some last minute shifts.  (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1PNK0T8YiSduhPI7jp4sDy5rEs_TJLTg4WJ48KpiOyNQ/edit?usp=sharing)
