Nightly News for December 13th

  • The  duty schedule for Friday is being looked at by a few other sets of eyes. I will be communicating with people directly tomorrow, Wednesday at the latest individual schedules for those who need to support the festivities. If you currently have a morning, after school, lunch or recess duty those will remain in tact for Friday. ESL, Reading, Intervention, Special Education, Specials teachers, and EAs will all be put on the Carnival rotation.
  • I am trying not to put Tavares, Danelle, Tami, Emily and myself on the schedule if at all possible for Friday so we can respond to student needs. Additionally, Tom will be available for calls as well. We will be able to potentially offer a roving person to give teachers short bathroom breaks. This is the hope, but in the event we are short subs this will not be available.
  • Installment #4 of "How to Make the Most of Your Winter Break" - Tomorrow and Wednesday are devoted to checking things off that to do list. Chip at it a little each day. Get a note card out (or make a note in your phone for those tech people) about little adjustments you want to make upon the return to school. What isn't working for you? How can you positively welcome kids back? Is there some community building activity you can get prepped right now for the first day back? Take a moment tomorrow to thank someone who has supported you in the past few weeks.
  • We will have staff meeting tomorrow @ 3:30. K-5 please be ready to roll for Kid Chats. Middle School info is/was sent directly to you. Specials, Reading, SPED and ESL teachers be prepared to join a K-5 team where you have the students with the most concerns.
  • I will be leaving a bit early tomorrow. I have some district business to attend to. I will also be out from about 11:00-12:30 for a meeting @ Kellogg. Just an FYI.
  • Be sure to attend to your short leaves, extended hours, etc. Shannon sent out a request for this.
